Dak Prescott is in line to getting his first big deal of his career and he does not want to mess this up and regret it later.
Chris Simms spoke on the radio on Tuesday and revealed an insane deal that the Dallas Cowboys have offered to Dak, but the star QB wants an even more insane amount of money in the final year of the deal should he take a 5-year deal as opposed to the 4-year deal that he wants.
“From what I know of the situation, and I know from some people who are in the know that he’s been offered five years, $175 million,” NFL QB-turned-analyst Chris Simms told 105.3 The Fan’s “K & C Masterpiece” on Tuesday.
“He wants a four-year deal. If they do agree to a five-year deal they would like a really big number at the end of that fifth year to cover their butts for what the market might be at the position five years from now. And I’ve heard he’s asking for somewhere like north of $45 million in that fifth year.”
That is truly an enormous number that I’m not sure Jerry and Stephen Jones would agree to do.
Dak Prescott had an incredible year in 2019 throwing for a career-high 4,902 yards and 30 touchdowns. After the team added WR CeeDee Lamb to the mix, he might be looking at a year where he tops 5,000 yards and even more touchdowns that would skyrocket a deal even more.
