Less than 24 hours after ESPN stated the Dallas Cowboys were reportedly moving on from Jason Garrett, it now appears that the news has yet to make it to the team’s coaching staff and players who have yet to be told of any changes at head coach.
NFL Network’s Jane Slater dropped that news on Friday that said Jerry Jones and Dallas’ front office haven’t made any indication that Garrett is no longer the team’s head coach.
Even their Twitter account tells you that:
This is just a crazy turn of events for a franchise that certainly needs a change of direction, but refuses to come out and just state it, so all parties can move on from this marriage.
What makes matters worse is that while the franchise drags it feet, other candidates are being interviewed and will likely be scooped up before the Cowboys get a chance to interview them. They have already lost out on trying to get Ron Rivera as he took his talents to Washington.
