The Dallas Cowboys are desperately trying to get their biggest offensive contributors the contract they would like so they can focus on playing for a Super Bowl for the upcoming season.
It hasn’t exactly gone according to plan. Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper are in training camp, but Ezekiel Elliott remains away from the team as he continues his holdout to get a bigger deal.
It’s not because the franchise isn’t trying.
On Tuesday, Jane Slater of NFL Network reported that the Cowboys have made a “generous” offer to all three stars that would put them all in the top-5 paid at their respective positions.
She concluded with if both sides can’t agree on a particular number then the franchise is more than willing to play the upcoming season on a “prove it deal.”
