It’s looking more and more likely that the Dallas Cowboys are going to franchise tag Dak Prescott, which will bring even more problems before the 2020 season.
Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones revealed Monday that the team has not actually had any contract discussions with Prescott’s agent since September. That’s before the 2019 season even started.
To make matters worse, the two sides have not spoken this offseason.
Jones told Gehlken the team is “absolutely not” moving in a different direction from Prescott.
“Dak’s our quarterback. He’s our quarterback for the future. We have nothing but the greatest respect for him. …There’s no thoughts like that.”

Making the matters even worse is the free-agent status for WR Amari Cooper, who is also set to hit the open market.
The 26-year-old Prescott played in all 16 games in 2019 and racked up 4,902 yards, 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while rushing for 277 yards and three touchdowns.
