The Dallas Cowboys reportedly sent a complaint to the NFL regarding a lack of holding calls against opposing offensive linemen on superstar pass-rusher Micah Parsons.
In last week’s road loss to the Miami Dolphins, video footage showed the Cowboys’ All-Pro linebacker getting blatantly held on several occasions. And yet, the referees didn’t bother throwing a flag on these plays:
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Dallas wound up sending the league information regarding the lack of holding calls against Parsons.
“The Cowboys have sent information to the league office about Micah Parsons’ struggles to draw offensive holding calls, a fact the player has highlighted with pictures on social media. Typically a team will send play sequences it might deem questionable to the league for review, and Dallas has done that here. Teams don’t always get a detailed explanation on each call from the league, though. Parsons has 1.5 sacks in his past four games and clearly believes he should have more based on his ability.”

The 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year has 13 sacks (the third straight year he’s hit that mark) and one forced fumble here in 2023. But as Fowler noted, Parsons has just 1.5 sacks over Dallas’ last four games, and that’s largely thanks to opposing linemen getting away with obvious holding infractions.
The Cowboys have dropped each of their last two games and enter Week 17’s contest against the Detroit Lions with and 11-4 record.
