I’ve never been a head coach in the NFL, so there’s at least a decent chance that I’m totally wrong about this…
But I’d imagine if I had just been handed a head coaching job with an organization, one of the first things I’d do (certainly within my first week on the job) is get in contact with my starting/franchise quarterback. I’m not saying you have to call every player on the roster, but you’d think the quarterback would be high on the list of people a new coach would want to get in touch with.
Well, new Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is currently into day five on the job, and he still hasn’t talked to Dak Prescott.
Seeing as how his poor relationship with Aaron Rodgers was one of the biggest critiques of McCarthy during his time in Green Bay, you’d think he’d put in the extra effort to get in his star quarterback’s good books this time around.
Maybe he has that important phone call scheduled for day six on the job. Stay tuned.
