CeeDee Lamb’s lack of production in Week 1 was very concerning for a No. 1 WR.
The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver said he was “pissed off” after finishing with two catches for 29 yards in a 19-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“Having three No. 1s out there, it makes a difference,” Lamb told Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. “You know what I’m saying? You got Coop [Amari Cooper] on the outside, killing. You got MG [Michael Gallup] in the slot, killing. And I’m killing it in the slot. It puts people in a funk. Now, when you have just me (of those three) right now, it’s easy. …Throughout the game, I was so pissed like, ‘What is going on?’ I had to have a flashback. ‘Yeah, you’re going to get all the attention now. This is what they were talking about.’”
While on 105.3 The Fan this Friday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked about Lamb’s lackluster performance in Week 1.
“You got to play through being covered,” Jones said of Lamb. “You got to catch balls covered. You say, ‘Well, that’s a trite things to say,’ but you can’t just because they doubled you up, not make some plays.”

Lamb is now top dog in the WR room after the Cowboys traded Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns and with Michael Gallup recovering from an ACL tear.
Lamb is coming off a 79-catch, 1,102-yard season and was expected to take a major leap in 2022. The Oklahoma product did no favors to his fantasy owners as they hope he has a huge rebound in Week 2.
