Davante Adams likely won’t be the only star wide receiver traded before the NFL’s deadline. The newest rumors surround wide receiver Cooper Kupp from the Los Angeles Rams.
“When the flurry of trades happened on Tuesday, it led to more calls: Including teams inquiring about #Rams WR Cooper Kupp, sources say,” said NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
Of course, Kupp has not played in a game against the Arizona Cardinals since Week 2 of the regular season. In that game, the Wide Receiver suffered an ankle injury, which has been frequent.
Currently, the Rams have a surplus of great injured wide receivers, with second-year player Puka Nakua also suffering a serious injury early into the year.
Because of Kupp’s lengthy injury history, this could be the organization’s way of moving on from him. At 31 years old, a wide receiver usually starts to digress.

However, after the Jets acquired Davante Adams for just a third-round pick that could turn into a second-rounder, the return for Kupp wouldn’t be very significant.
Cooper Kupp’s Injury History Could Turn Teams Away
For the same reason, the Rams could possibly be trying to trade Kupp, which is why many teams wouldn’t be interested.
He has already missed 4 games in 2024, and even if he returned in Week 7 and played every other game, it would be the most he’s played in a single season since 1021.
In 2022, following an Offense Player of the Year award in 2021, he played in just nine games, reeling in 812 yards and six touchdowns.
2023 was a similar story, recording snaps in 12 games but having even less production with 737 yards and five touchdowns.
Kupp doesn’t seem to be able to shake the injury bug, which is slowly derailing his career.
