Over the past few days, there was heavy talks about the Cleveland browns Being in discussions with the Vikings to send Odell Beckham Jr. to Minnesota in exchange for a few draft picks. A few other prominent NFL insiders have since shot down those rumors, but that doesn’t mean OBJ is still safe.
“It was completely false. It’s frustrating obviously. It’s pretty clear what we’re trying to build,” Browns Chiefs Strategy Officer DePodesta said, via Daryl Ruiter. “The idea we’d take away from that core doesn’t make sense and is not something we’re exploring.“
On Saturday, Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report dropped a report where sources informed him that while Odell might not be heading to the Vikings, he will be heading somewhere and it has everything to do with him not being a good fit.
“These sources all believe it’s only a matter of time before Beckham is traded from the Browns, and they don’t believe it’s because of a perceived attitude problem with Beckham.
“People have the wrong idea of who he is as a person,” said one general manager.
The issue, instead, is that Beckham isn’t a good fit with quarterback Baker Mayfield.”
The report goes on to say that their is belief Beckham will only fit and be happy with an “offense with a highly accurate quarterback.” As we know, Mayfield is struggling a lot with his accuracy and it showed during the 2019 season.
The 27-year-old Beckham appeared in 16 games for the Browns and caught 74 passes for 1,035 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
