Joe Buck will reportedly be leaving Fox Sports after nearly 30 years to become the new voice of ESPN’s Monday Night Football according to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.
Now, Fox Sports has two gaping holes with the departure of Troy Aikman and Joe Buck.
Kevin Burkhardt is currently the “clear favorite” to replace Buck as FOX’s top play-by-play broadcaster. His color commentator would most likely be former NFL tight end Greg Olsen.

“Meanwhile, with Buck leaving, Kevin Burkhardt is the clear favorite, according to sources, to be Fox’s lead NFL play-by-player, which is significant on many levels, including because Fox has two of the next three Super Bowls on its air.”
FOX could consider an outside hire, like Al Michaels or Drew Brees.
According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Buck’s contract with ESPN is expected to be a five-year deal in the $60-75 million range.
