Clay Matthews really wants his money and he wants it now.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the former Rams linebacker is filing a $2 million grievance against the Rams over “unpaid guarantees.”
Matthews was released by the Rams in March after missing three games due to a broken jaw he suffered early in the season. Despite his injury, he still finished with eight sacks in 13 games for Los Angeles.
It was just a few weeks ago when Todd Gurley and Clay Matthews both called out the Rams for owning them money.
“Past due,” Gurley tweeted at the Rams. “Send me money ASAP.”
“You and me both TG!,” Matthews responded. “Better get some interest with that, too.”

Rams general manager Les Snead later responded to their criticisms:
“They’re definitely owed money. That money is guaranteed. We’re going to pay them,” Snead told NFL Network (via ESPN). “There’s some language in the contract of exactly when you pay them, and that’s what we’re adhering by. What I do know is both Clay and Todd earned that money and they’re going to get that money.”
