Kansas City Chiefs fans are waking up this morning hoping for any good news regarding the health status of their star QB.
Patrick Mahomes left Thursday night’s game against the Denver Broncos with a knee injury that initially looked very serious, but medical personnel were seen popping his kneecap back in the place on the field and Mahomes was able to walk off the field under his own power.
Mahomes was said to have suffered a dislocated knee cap and is set to undergo an MRI on Friday, which will determine whether or not he suffered ligament damage.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network stated there is “real optimism” that not only will Mahomes miss three weeks, but he can play through the ailment after that.
That means Mahomes would miss games against the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans if he is out three weeks.
The Chiefs were able to hang on for a 30-6 win on Thursday Night Football, but the Denver Broncos are a terrible team and the next three opponents will present some serious challenges.
