It appears the Chicago Bears fan base and the players will finally get what they want.
The Chicago Bears have lost each of their last five games, and their misfortunes have had many calling for the end of head coach Matt Nagy’s tenure with the team.
According to Mark Konkol of Patch, the Bears will part ways with Nagy following Thursday’s game against the Lions.
“For disgruntled Bears fans looking for something to be thankful for after five straight losses, this is it,” Konkol wrote. “Matt Nagy will coach his last game for the Bears on Thanksgiving in Detroit, a top source with knowledge of the decision told Patch.”
NFL reporter Jordan Schultz tweeted on Monday that an “overwhelming number” of players on the team’s roster want Nagy to be fired. A source of Schultz’s added that, “[Nagy] lost some of the locker room last season, but now it’s gone.”

Nagy got off to a hot start as head coach as he led the team to a 12-4 record and an NFC North divisional crown, all while winning winning AP NFL Coach of the Year. Things have gone extremely downhill for him and the franchise ever since.
The Bears have never fired a head coach in the middle of a season, so it’s only right that it would be Nagy to make this history.
The Bears are just coming off of a 16-13 loss to the Ravens at home.
