During the offseason in 2016, Charles Tillman called it a career, wrapping up a distinguished career during which he played a big role on many great defenses. While other players would sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labor and massive bank accounts, Tillman wanted to start another career.
The former Pro Bowl cornerback graduated from the law enforcement agency’s training academy and is currently working as an FBI agent, per Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.
“Tillman earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette before the Bears drafted him in the second round in 2003. He grew up in a military family—his father, Donald Tillman Jr., was a sergeant in the Army—and attended 11 schools from kindergarten through 12th grade.”
Tillman was the Bears’ second-round draft pick in 2003. He gave them 12 glorious years, helping the Bears reach Super Bowl 41 before they ultimately lost to the Indianapolis Colts.
He ended his career with an astounding 911 tackles, 38 interceptions and 44 forced fumbles.
