A proposed three-team trade would send Brandon Aiyuk to a team he would love to go to.
The star wide receiver wants out of San Francisco and has requested a trade after contract negotiations broke down in May and never started again.
Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports decided to shake things up and help some teams out as he recently proposed a three-team trade involving Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton and current disgruntled 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
Benjamin sees a potential win-win situation in a trade as he has the Broncos, Commanders, and 49ers in this mock trade.
The deal plays out with Aiyuk leaving town and the 49ers getting some help to replace him.
- Broncos get: WR Jamison Crowder (Washington), 2025 third-round pick (Washington)
- Commanders get: WR Brandon Aiyuk (San Francisco)
- 49ers get: WR Courtland Sutton (Denver), 2025 second-round pick (Washington)
“Let’s get funky, eh? Denver is in a bit of a contract bind of its own, with Sutton contemplating a training camp holdout as he seeks a pay raise entering Year 7,” Benjamin wrote.
“While Sean Payton may not prefer to part with his club’s most accomplished wideout, he could also use more resources for the long-term build around rookie quarterback Bo Nix.
“Crowder is aging, but his reliability as a possession target would probably appeal to Payton’s eye for efficiency. San Francisco, meanwhile, would essentially be renting a proven downfield starter in Sutton while also recouping a second-rounder by shipping Aiyuk to Washington.”

The talk of Aiyuk being traded heated up before the 2024 NFL draft, but nothing ever happened, as the 49ers have maintained that they will not trade him.

Since then, the Washington Commanders drafted his close friend and former teammate, Jayden Daniels.
Brandon Aiyuk Posts Commanders’ Practice Footage
Brandon Aiyuk is still a member of the 49ers, but the veteran wideout is doing anything possible to get out of town.
A few weeks ago, he admitted that he had thought about joining forces with the Washington Commanders. He’s also listed the Pittsburgh Steelers as another possible option.
He continued his crazed behavior of leaving town when he posted a clip of a Washington practice on TikTok.
This isn’t the first time that Aiyuk has been linked with Daniels and the Commanders.
On a FaceTime call, Aiyuk told Daniels that the 49ers “don’t want me back.”
