Despite having seven games with multiple interceptions thrown, including five in one game alone, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported on Saturday that the Buccaneers are expected to bring back QB Jameis Winston for the 2020 season.
The Buccaneers can use both the franchise and transitions tags, but the franchise tag for quarterbacks will come in around $27 million while the transition tag would be $25 million or so.
While it’s easy to point to the highlights of his crazy interceptions, Winston has actually shown improvement under new HC Bruce Arians and Rapoport says the Bucs are hopeful of what he can do moving forward.
The 25-year-old has completed 61.7 percent of his passes for 4,573 yards, 30 touchdowns and 24 interceptions while rushing for 229 yards and one touchdown.
