Aaron Rodgers’ future with the Green Bay Packers remains uncertain after the team was ousted out of the postseason with a 13-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
During a recent episode of the “Colin Cowherd Podcast,” the FOX Sports personality laid out his opinion of where he thinks the QB could go. Cowherd believes the Packers should consider a blockbuster trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Cowherd has the Buccaneers sending players and picks to the Packers for Rodgers.
“There will be options for the Buccaneers via free agency or trade if Brady doesn’t return. Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers could be available given their current situations with the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers while Jameis Winston is the top free agent available. Winston spent a year with Arians in 2019, throwing for 5,109 yards with 33 touchdowns and 30 interceptions before the Buccaneers moved on from him when they had an opportunity to sign Tom Brady in free agency.”
“Tom Brady retires in two weeks. Aaron Rodgers says ‘I want out.’ So Davante Adams is out. Aaron agrees to Tampa. Green Bay says, ‘I want Mike Evans. We’re not losing Davante and getting nobody in return.’ Tampa needs to cut money. The Packers get Mike Evans and JPP, which is about $30 million of salary, and two first-round picks,” Cowherd said.

The Buccaneers did attempt to prepare themselves for this sort of scenario by selecting Kyle Trask in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft. It will be a humongous drop in production since Trask did not play in any games this season.
Arians noted that the Bucs plan to “do their homework” on potential quarterback options.
“Yeah, we do that [contingency plan] with every position,” Arians explained. “Quarterback, obviously, you start there. Again, [we’ll] see where we’re heading and wait and see what Tom does. But we’ll be doing our homework, that’s for sure.”
After teasing a potential exit from the Green Bay Packers last year, Rodgers returned to Lambeau Field and once again proved he’s one of the best quarterbacks and is all but certain to be named MVP for the second straight season.
As of now, there are just swirling rumors that Rodgers may want to head to Denver after the Broncos signed Nathaniel Hackett as their new head coach. Given his familiarity with Hackett, Rodgers would know what to expect in a move to the Broncos.
Despite going 7-10 in 2021, the Broncos are a team that is built to win now. The team just lacks a QB and Rodgers can change that now.
