On Sunday morning, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport made social media think about something else besides the upcoming Super Bowl when he reported that the Tampa Bay Bucs has done “extensive homework” on a potential Deshaun Watson trade. The team is also “expected to explore” a trade for Seattle Seahawks star quarterback Russell Wilson.
“Sources say they’re doing extensive homework on Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson and are one of multiple teams expected to explore a potential trade for Russell Wilson, though the Seahawks have given no indication they’ll deal him,” the report said.
Regarding Wilson, Seattle has given no public indication that it plans on dealing its star quarterback. When it comes to Watson, everyone knows that the Texans are ready and willing to deal their disgruntled quarterback elsewhere, but he presents a huge problem with his legal issues. Apparently, that is not scaring the Bucs away.
Speaking on SiriusXM radio earlier this week, Wilson said, “My hope and goal is to be back there and keep winning there. That’s the vision, that’s the goal. That’s always been it, never been anything different.”
Wilson reportedly did not demand a trade from the Seahawks, but the Bears, Raiders, Saints and Cowboys made up his list of preferred teams if a deal had happened, according to his agent.
Watson just simply does not speak with the media since his legal issues. He did not play this past season for the Texans as he is facing is facing 22 civil lawsuits and 10 criminal complaints alleging sexual assault or sexual misconduct during sessions with various massage therapists in the Houston area.
