Andy Dalton’s time with the Cincinnati Bengals came to an end in 2019 after he was benched and he expressed frustration with the franchise about the decision, mainly because it happened so close to the trade deadline.
Dalton said his agent attempted to survey trade options with other teams, but made it clear that there wasn’t enough time to get any deal settled.
Fast forward to February and the Bengals are expected to take QB Joe Burrow with the 1st overall draft pick, which is another sign that Dalton will never play in Cincinnati again.
According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Bengals plan to work with their longtime QB to facilitate a trade at some point this offseason.
Rapoport says he’s been told the Bengals will not put Dalton in a situation that’s bad for him or that the veteran doesn’t agree with moving forward.
