After failing to reach the playoffs, Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield’s future with the team is surely up in the air.
Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com added to the situation when she said the QB has become increasingly frustrated with Kevin Stefanski’s playcalling this calling.

“Mayfield’s issues with Stefanski bubbled below the surface most of the season, with Mayfield feeling like Stefanski’s playcalling didn’t always put him in a position to succeed or play to his strengths, sources told cleveland.com.”
His dislike of the playcalling actually has him considering asking for a trade.
Speaking to 92.3 The Fan, Browns OC Alex Van Pelt made it clear that there is no “tension” between Mayfield and head coach Kevin Stefanski. He stated communication between the two is “wide open” and that Stefanski has always been “open and communicative with all the players.”

“No. Absolutely not,” Stefanski said, regarding the “tension” between the two. “I know the line of communication is wide open between those two guys. Kevin’s always been open, communicative with all the players.”
Since his regular season is over, Baker Mayfield ended his year with a 6-8 record and completed 60.5-percent of his passes for 3,010 yards and 17 touchdowns with 13 interceptions. All of those were lower than last year’s playoff season.
If a trade doesn’t happen, Mayfield heads to the team next season on the final year of his rookie deal.
