Jadeveon Clowney is headed back to Cleveland and it seems one person not being on the team is one of the reasons he decided to come back.
The Browns have agreed to terms with OLB Jadeveon Clowney on a new contract. According to Josina Anderson, Clowney is signing a one-year contract worth $11 million.
According to Brad Stainbrook, who covers the Browns for 247Sports, it was Clowney who actually put in a good word for Cleveland with Deshaun Watson before the Browns traded for him. Watson and Clowney are former teammates from their time in Houston.
Stainbrook also tweeted that if the Browns had not traded for Watson and were sticking with Baker Mayfield as their quarterback, Clowney would’ve taken his talents elsewhere.
The former No. 1 overall pick of the Texans back in 2014 was traded by them to Seattle before he would sign a one-year deal with the Titans.
