Quarterback-starved teams really want to change the course of their franchise, even if that means checking in on a guy with a sketchy legal issue that got so much better this week.
According to Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network, there are 10 teams monitoring the star quarterback’s off-field situation.
“As much as Friday marks an important day in the case with that outcome remaining unclear, the level of interest around the NFL isn’t,” Wilson wrote. “Up to 10 NFL teams are actively monitoring the Watson situation, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.”
Earlier this week, the Seattle Seahawks shocked the NFL world by agreeing to trade away franchise quarterback Russell Wilson and then later releasing future Hall of Famer Bobby Wagner Many assumed the franchise was heading into full rebuild mode, but that appears to not be the case as they are also one of the teams watching the Watson situation.
Deshaun Watson, who’s reportedly been seeking a trade since the start of last offseason, is a likelier candidate to be dealt after Friday’s legal proceedings in Houston, where a grand jury determined he will not face criminal charges for allegations of sexual misconduct in massage sessions.

Now that he is basically in the free and clear, the number of teams is likely to grow by the day as the Houston Texans will look to move him sooner rather than later.
