Jeremy Fowler of ESPN dropped crucial news Sunday when he reported that Cardinals’ LB Chandler Jones requested a trade from the team this offseason.
Fowler adds that Jones is unhappy with both his contract and his future with Arizona. The team does not want to part ways with him and fully expects him to report to training camp.
According to Fowler, the team believes that Jones is excited to play with veteran DE J.J. Watt and may remain with Arizona this year.
The 31-year-old is set to make a base salary of $15.5 million in 2021.
In 2020, Jones appeared in four games for the Cardinals and recorded 10 tackles, one sack, and a fumble recovery.
