Even if the 2020 NFL season starts on time, Antonio Brown is not likely to be signed nor will he be on the field Week 1 and possibly further.
On Friday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported that the controversial free agent WR has had the state of Florida levy three formal charges against him for an alleged assault back in January that led to him turning himself in to police.
“Brown faces felony burglary conveyance, misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal mischief charges, according to a Broward County court document obtained by ESPN.”
The delivery truck driver alleged that Brown and his trainer assaulted him as he attempted to deliver Brown’s household items from California. The report says the misdemeanor battery charge states that Brown was “actually and intentionally striking” the driver against his will.
“It’s possible the state will offer Brown the chance to negotiate a plea deal.”
Brown is currently without an agent and is still awaiting the league to finish with its investigation on sexual assault allegations against him.
The 31-year-old only played in one game in 2019 with the New England patriots, seeing his time with the team end after eleven days.
