An AFC team has reportedly made inquiries into the possibility of a trade for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown.
The star wideout set tongues wagging on Thursday after changing his social media profile photos to show former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
Brown is known to be a Pats fan and is understood to have cried after the franchise didn’t draft him in 2019.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer has also reported, via NBC Sports Boston’s Arbella Early Edition, that multiple teams around the NFL are interested in a move for Brown, but the Eagles have rebuffed all inquiries.
“Philadelphia has gotten inquiries on A.J. Brown and they have shut them all down and told other teams he is not available,” Breer said.
As it happens, the Patriots are one of the teams that made inquiries about the WR.

Brown remains one of the best wideouts in the league and had a solid season in 2023, registering 1,456 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, having posted 1,496 yards and 11 scores the previous season. He would certainly command hefty compensation should Philadelphia agree to move on from him.
AJ Brown Has Explained his Social Media Actions
Having caused a stir on social media this past Thursday, AJ Brown has made it clear that he isn’t looking for a trade to New England and was simply celebrating Tom Brady, who is his favorite player.
“TB12 is my favorite player ever. I watch the dynasty and it brought back some memories from my childhood,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “Go look up what he did in 2015 when he was doubted/ disrespected. Yeah I see the disrespect. Motivated … yes. That’s it.
“I Did not think changing my pfp to the greatest QB ever would cause controversy.”
Even so, he’s recently followed Pats quarterback Jacoby Brissett and wide receiver KJ Osborn.
The pass catcher is contracted to the Eagles until 2026, and it appears he’s set to stay put for the time being.
