An interesting AFC team will reportedly ponder adding Tennessee Titans signal-caller Ryan Tannehill in free agency next month.
The Titans are most certainly ready to move on from Tannehill after he lost his starting job to rookie Will Levis last year. So barring any surprises, the 2019 Comeback Player of the Year and 35-year-old will enter free agency for the first time in his career.
According to NFL.com insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo, the Pittsburgh Steelers “will explore” signing the veteran quarterback this offseason:
“With new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, the expectation is Pittsburgh will explore adding free agent Ryan Tannehill, who had his best years with the Titans while Smith was the OC there.”
The Steelers snuck into the postseason with a 10-7 record despite having to use three different quarterbacks (Mason Rudolph, Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph) in 2023. Pittsburgh signal-callers combined for only 13 touchdowns against nine interceptions last season.
For his career, the 2012 first-round pick has an 81-70 record with 34,881 career passing yards, 216 passing touchdowns and 115 interceptions. He started eight games for Tennessee in 2023, throwing four touchdowns and seven picks in those contests.
