There are reportedly five teams interested in former Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Tyler Boyd, one of the top remaining NFL free agents.
Tyler Boyd spent his first eight seasons with the Bengals, but the AFC North club decided to move on before the new league year began. Fellow star wideout Tee Higgins was assigned the franchise tag, and WR1 Ja’Marr Chase soon needs a massive contract extension.
According to a report from Mark Kaboly of The Athletic, “at least” five teams are interested in the veteran wideout: The Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers:
I would say that it would be a long shot, at best, that the two sides come together. From what I have been told, Boyd was extremely interested in Pittsburgh at the beginning of the free-agency process, but the offer wasn’t something he was comfortable with. Boyd has at least had preliminary interest from the Chiefs, Chargers, Dolphins, Lions and 49ers. I am pretty sure the ship with the Steelers has sailed.
Boyd had been linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers for some time. He was born in Clairton (about 15 miles south of Pittsburgh) and played college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers. Not to mention that Pittsburgh also needs more WR help after trading Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers in a surprise move.

In his final season with the Bengals, Boyd hauled in 67 receptions for 667 yards and two touchdowns. In seven career postseason games, Boyd has 21 receptions for 199 yards and a touchdown.
Tyler Boyd Can Still Be A Quality WR2
Boyd was the Bengals’ top receiver over the 2018 and 2019 seasons, prior to the arrivals of Higgins (2020) and Chase (2021). Boyd crossed the 1,000-yard mark in 2018 and 2019, recording a career-high 90 receptions in the latter.
Even as Cincinnati’s No. 3 receiver in the 2021 season, Boyd still put up 67 receptions for 828 yards and five touchdowns. And in 2022, he racked up 58 receptions for 762 yards and five touchdowns.
Higgins and Chase have been a top-five WR tandem over the last three years, and yet Boyd continued to put up good numbers as their No. 3 pass-catcher. So if he lands with the right team, Boyd could very well regain that 1,000-yard form.
