The NFL can be a cruel business sometimes. Just ask Nick Bosa, who’s set to be fined nearly $1-million by the team he’s helped win so many games over the years, just because he’s missing a meaningless preseason game while he tries to negotiate a new contract.
The second overall pick from the 2019 draft has yet to report to the San Francisco 49ers this offseason as he tries to get raise on the $17.86-million he’s set to earn this season.
While Bosa is looking to increase his bank account, it appears as though he’ll have to take a big hit first in order to do it, as reports indicate that the reigning Defensive Player of the Year will be fined a whopping $992,166 for missing today’s preseason game against the Raiders.
That has to be one of the largest fines ever handed out for missing a preseason game in NFL history.
Of course, the Niners do have the option to waive all fines that Bose racks up. And it’s already been reported that they plan on waiving this fine.
In the end, the main goal for both sides here is to come to a fair agreement before the start of the 2023 season, so that Bosa can continue to help the 49ers achieve their goal of winning that elusive sixth Super Bowl.
