It’s no secret that the 49ers are looking to add playmakers on offense, so with the recent controversy and rumors that Antonio Brown wants out, San Francisco figures to be right in the mix.
If the New York Giants decide to move on from Odell Beckham Jr., the 9ers are figured to be right there in the mix as well, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.
“The 49ers considered it during that window last year when Beckham seemed to be available, and there’s already buzz this year that, if he’s available, the 49ers would be interested.”
Odell Beckham Jr. has five years and $74 million remaining on the long-term deal he signed last August. Despite only competing in 12 games, Beckham finished the year with 77 catches for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns.
The 49ers were reportedly interested in trading for Le’Veon Bell during the season, but nothing ever came from it. But, it showed a willingness from the front office to make a big move to improve the team.
As far as Brown is concerned, he had his issues with Ben Roethlisberger in recent weeks, and he’s now formally requested to be traded.

The 49ers went just 4-12 this season, which was aided by the season-ending ACL injury Jimmy Garrapolo suffered early in the season.
