Last night, the 49ers had to rule cornerback Josh Norman out for the remainder of their Week 3 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. He had emerged as the Niners replacement for cornerback Jason Verrett, who is out for the year with a torn ACL.
On Monday morning, NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported that Norman was rushed to the hospital after spitting up blood. However, all of his tests came back negative as he spent the night in the hospital.
“Josh Norman, who was ruled out of last night’s game with a chest injury suffered in the first half, was taken to the hospital after spitting up blood, sources say. All tests came back OK but Norman spent the night in the hospital as a precaution.”
Norman is playing in his tenth NFL season and has recorded two tackles and a forced fumble in two starts for the 49ers this season. He appeared in nine games with the Bills last season and racked up 24 tackles, four passes defended, and one interception.
Prayers up for his recovery.
