The narrative right now surrounding Carson Wentz is that many believe he won’t survive the offseason wearing a Colts uniform. ESPN reported over the weekend that it looks like Wentz will play elsewhere in 2022.
Former Indianapolis Colts center Jeff Saturday certainly thinks he’s done.
“I think he’s done in Indy,” Saturday said on ESPN’s show Get Up on Tuesday. “Look at what happened with Wentz and the way the season ended and you hear all of the things and reports coming out of Indianapolis, it does not feel like it’s a hopeful situation.”
Depending on what happens with Aaron Rodgers, there may be a few teams will to give the Colts a call.

“They’d much prefer a safer, superstar fix after Tom Brady’s (temporary?) retirement, so Rodgers, Wilson and Watson will all get looks. Garoppolo and Jameis Winston might, too. But Bruce Arians has talked highly of Wentz before, and like all the other teams here, they’d have the flexibility of totally resetting in 2023 anyway.”
The Colts won 11 games and made the playoffs with Philip Rivers in 2020. Wentz failed to lead the Colts to the postseason in his first year as the starter, including an epic meltdown in the regular-season finale.
Wentz posted a 62.4 completion percentage, 3,563 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 17 starts but led the Colts to just a 9-8 record.
