Cleveland Browns know the days of quarterback Baker Mayfield being around are getting shorter, but they are still running into trouble finding
Browns made a big choice by going to get Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans, so finding a landing spot for Mayfield is very relevant. According to Charles Robinson, two dark horse teams could be worth keeping an eye on when it comes to Mayfield.
Per Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson the Titans and Bucs could be interested in the former Heisman Trophy winner.
Tennessee is seen as a viable option due to there being an exit from Ryan Tannehill after next season. Grabbing Mayfield next year or even this year as a backup could make sense for the Titans. Tannehill passed for 3,734 yards, 21 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 2021, his TDs a low for his time with the Titans and his INTs a high.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers are probably heading into their last season with hall of fame quarterback Tom Brady at the helm. Having a QB in place would ensure the team could at least stay competitive without falling off the face of the Earth with Brady’s real retirement.
Mayfield struggled to the tune of 3,010 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions in 2021 with the Browns, and the team gave up on him by trading for Deshaun Watson.
