Another week. Another ridiculous mistake from officials that appears to have totally affected the outcome of an important NFL game.
On Saturday night, during a win-and-in game between the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts, things came down to the wire as the Colts were approaching the Texans’ end zone, trailing by just six points with less than two minutes remaining.
With just 1:06 left on the clock, the Colts were facing a 4th-and-1 from the Texans’ 15-yard line. They attempted a short pass to Tyler Goodson, but it fell incomplete.
However, new footage appears to show that a Texans player was clearly offside on the play. Somehow the refs missed it, costing the Colts five-yards and a first down.
Fortunately for the NFL, this missed call doesn’t appear to be getting the same level of attention as last Saturday’s officiating error that cost the Lions in their matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Thanks to the officiating error, the Texans emerged with a 23-19 victory, securing their spot in the postseason while also keeping their chances at an AFC South title alive.

As for the Colts, their season is now over. It’s a tough way to end what was a surprisingly strong campaign, and I’m sure this botched call won’t make it any easier.
