This referee certainly played hockey in his younger years.
During the game between the Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders — a play on the sidelines would end up in a bunch of controversy. Washington quarterback Sam Howell took a vicious hit and would be laid out as he scrambled out of the pocket as he looked for a teammate to throw the ball to downfield.
In the midst of his being hit was a referee being smashed to the ground, but it did not hurt much as he sat back up like The Undertaker used to do back in his heydays in the WWE.
He also made sure to throw a flag for the hit on Howell.
It appears that ref was just fine.
