The 2023 – 2024 NFL season is over and we’ve gotten a full season from all the rookies. That means we can start fairly grading and seeing who’ll be a bust and who will be a star.
Of course some teams feel like they made the perfect selection and other teams are seriously regretting what they did. That’s why we are going to be Redrafting the first round of the 2023 NFl draft.
1) Carolina Panthers: Will Anderson Jr.
It’s become painfully obvious the Panthers were not ready to draft a QB with the number one pick. No rookie put in the same position as Bryce Young would have succeeded with his supporting cast. That is why in this redraft the Panthers solidify an already great defensive unit by selecting Anderson.
2) Houston Texans: CJ Stroud
The Texans hit gold when they took CJ Stroud in the draft. He’s going to be a front runner for the Rookie of the Year award and deservedly so. They should have no regrets with this selection and would absolutely do it again.
3) Houston Texans: Jalen Carter

The Texans don’t get their original pick of Will Anderson but get possibly an even better player for them right now. They don’t have too much depth at defensive tackle so this is a great fit.
4) Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Richardson
Injuries are already a concern early into his career but the Colts should still feel comfortable with him as the leader of the offense. After making the playoffs without him for the majority of the season they should only be more dangerous with him.
5) Seattle Seahawks: Bryce Young
It’s clear that Geno Smith isn’t the guy who will take the Seahawks much further than the first round of the playoffs even if that. Taking Bryce Young here and sitting him behind Geno for a few years would be great for development.
6) Arizona Cardinals: Puka Nakua
After breaking the rookie receptions and yards record Nakua would undoubtedly be the first receiver off the board. The Cardinals would for sure want someone like him to help their QB of the future in Kyler Murray.
7) Las Vegas Raiders: Sam LaPorta
In an offense that already featured Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams and Jakobi Myers, LaPorta would have been another amazing piece to have.
8) Atlanta Falcons: Bijan Robinson
Robinson was most likely the best rookie running back this year and had an insane amount of highlight plays. Given the opportunity the Falcons would pick him again.
9) Philadelphia Eagles: Devon Witherspoon
The poor secondary is most likely what has become the Eagles downfall this year. With a player who dominated like Witherspoon their entire season would have looked very different.
10) Chicago Bears: Darnell Wright
The Bears had the right idea here with their original pick in adding someone who can help protect Fields. If a redraft were to happen hopefully they would keep that same mindset and still draft Wright.
11) Tennessee Titans: Peter Skoronski
Maybe not exactly what Tennessee needed this year but Skoronski is going to be a great building block for whatever young QB takes over the job for the Titans especially with Derrick Henry likely playing his last snap for the franchise.
12) Detroit Lions: Brian Branch
The Lions certainly had one of the best drafts as they’ll be taking someone they originally did in the second round. He was an excellent slot option for them all year and they’d definitely want his talents back.
13) Green Bay Packers: Christian Gonzales
It seems like the Packers can never have a solid group of corners whether it’s injuries to team sanctioned suspensions. Gonzales would be an immediate starter as a boundary corner.
14) Pittsburgh Steelers: Joey Porter Jr.
It just makes so much sense for Porter Jr. to be a Steeler. So much sense that it’s hard to say they would pass him up in this spot considering he definitely wouldn’t last until the second round again.
15) New York Jets: Paris Johnson
If Aaron Rodgers is going to have a successful season next year the Jets need major offensive line help. It was revolving doors all around the Jets O Line and Johnson would provide a stable starter.
16) Washington Commanders: Mekhi Blackmon
After having the worst pass defense in the NFL the Commanders would absolutely have to go after a corner. With Witherspoon and Gonzalez off the board their next best option is Blackmon.
17) New England Patriots: Jordan Addison
Maybe a receiver is what could have made this bad Patriots offense just a little better. When Justin Jefferson missed time due to injury, Addison showed he can be a number one option on most teams.
18) Detroit Lions: Jahmyr Gibbs
Yes the Lions once again picked someone they actually did. Gibbs and David Montgomery proved to be an elite running back duo that the Lions could lean on at any point in a game.
19) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Bryan Breesee
The Buccaneers go after the same position but instead it’s Bryan Bresee from Clemson. He had a total of 31 total pressures on 5 sacks which gives him the sixth most out of every rookie.
20) Seattle Seahawks: Dawand Jones
If you’re going to draft a young QB in Bryce Young then why not give him a little help as well. Dawand Jones can have time to develop and become a bonafide starter by the time Young is ready for the starting position.
21) Los Angeles Chargers: Jack Campbell
The Chargers gave up the seventh most rushing touchdowns this year at 18. Someone like Campbell who excels as a run stopper could have helped a lot. He still has some to desire as a coverage guy but can easily develop.
22) Baltimore Ravens: Zay Flowers
Zay Flowers plugged into the Ravens offense immediately. He’s already one of the favorite targets to Lamar Jackson and would certainly end up back in Baltimore if given the chance.
23) Minnesota Vikings: Tank Dell
The Vikings miss out on their original pick of Jordan Addison but get an amazing replacement piece in Tank Dell.
24) New York Giants: Ivan Pace
Ivan Pace goes from an undrafted rookie free agent to first round pick in this made up scenario. The Giants are relatively thin at inside linebacker so Pace would be an immediate starter.
25) Buffalo Bills: Tuli Tuipulotu
With Joey Boas getting hurt Tuli Tuipulotu stepped up big time for the Los Angeles Chargers. In this scenario he could essentially be doing the same for the Bills in place for Von Miller.
26) Dallas Cowboys: Lukas Van Ness
Van Ness is a project player who most likely needs a few years to develop elite pass rushing skills so who better to teach him than Micah Parsons and Dexter Lawrence?
27) Jacksonville Jaguars: Emmanuel Forbes Jr.
Another team with a poor pass defense who needs to look to retool immediately. He’s an amazing athlete who once again might need a few years to develop but if he does he’ll be elite.
28) Cincinnati Bengals: Steve Avila
The Bengals need to ensure their largest asset in Joe Burrow is under as much protection as possible. Adding another promising piece to the offensive line is just the way to do it.
29) New Orleans Saints: O'Cyrus Torrence
With a great defense, receivers, running backs selecting an offensive lineman makes sense since they should be looking for a rookie QB in the next few years.
30) Philadelphia Eagles: Jordan Battle
What’s better than adding one piece to the secondary? Adding two! The Eagles could have a real opportunity to completely rebuild their passing defense by taking Battle here and Wetherspoon earlier in the draft.
31) Kansas City Chiefs: Jayden Reed
It’s painfully obvious that Mahomes is missing super star receiver Tyreek Hill. Here they take Jayden Reed who broke the Packers franchise for reception by a rookie and was also a threat in the run game.
