Fans are praying for former NFL linebacker Ray Lewis following the announcement of what is likely to be the most difficult ordeal he will ever have to endure as it’s been announced that the Hall of Famer’s son, Ray Lewis III, tragically passed away at the age of 28.
Details have not been revealed.
Lewis III was a star running back at Lake Mary Prep H.S. in Florida and went on to play for the Miami Hurricanes, Coastal Chanticleers, and the Virginia Union Panthers.
The news was first reported by TMZ on Thursday afternoon and, since then, support has been flooding social media.

Virginia Union associate head coach Diego Ryland branded Ray’s passing “very unfortunate.”
“Great young man and a better teammate,” he added. “The entire Virginia Union University community is praying for the family as they deal with the loss of Ray.”
Lewis’ younger brother Rahsaan also shared the news in an Instagram post.
“Really can’t believe I’m even typing this but RIP big brother,” he wrote.
“A true angel I pray your at peace now because IK how much you was rlly hurtin. I don’t and won’t ever have the words man cuz this pain right here….I love you I love you I love you.”
Lewis III last played for the Wyoming Mustangs in the Champions Indoor Football League.
