The Baltimore Ravens have made an interesting move at quarterback as they look to enhance their Super Bowl chances, with the playoffs fast approaching.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Malik Cunningham is set for a reunion with college teammate Lamar Jackson as the Ravens have signed him from the New England Patriots’ practice squad. Following a difficult season with the Pats, the undrafted rookie is set for a trip to the playoffs with the Ravens.
“I wanted to thank Mr Kraft and Coach Belichick for giving me [the] opportunity to play with the Patriots. I learned a lot from them,” he told Schefter.
“I want to be a coach one day, so I would take notes from coach Belichick because he’s one of the greatest of all time. I had great teammates in New England and built relationships that will last a lifetime. But I just feel like this is a good opportunity for me and I’m excited to be a Baltimore Raven.”
Cunningham is also able to play the wide receiver position but it’s unclear whether Baltimore wants to use him primarily as a quarterback or WR. it’s possible that they could be looking to unleash him on gadget plays, given his ability as both a QB and a wideout.
