Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith is taking some heat from fans over what’s been perceived as an insensitive comment about Joe Burrow getting hurt.
The Bengals quarterback sustained an injury to his throwing hand that is believed to have occurred before Thursday night’s game against Baltimore. He tried to play through the pain but eventually left the game in the second quarter after appearing to fall on the possibly already-injured hand.
Head coach Zac Taylor said after the game that the player is suspected to have sprained his right wrist.
Meanwhile, Smith is getting slammed by fans for what he said during a postgame interview.
“He’s a great player got a lot of respect for the way he plays the game, but hey, injuries are part of the game,” the LB told a reporter after the Ravens’ 34-20 win. “So, when you play the Ravens’ D sometimes things like that happen.”
Plenty of fans seem to think the statement was ill-advised.

While Burrow’s problems don’t stem from a dirty hit, perhaps Smith’s comment could have been worded better.
In his defense, he did wish Joe a speedy recovery right after saying the above.
