Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta admitted that there’s interest in bringing back two of the team’s top pending free agents as free agency draws closer.
Per the Ravens’ official team website, DeCosta stated that the team is keen on re-signing veteran running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Both standout RBs have played their entire careers with the Ravens:
“We’re still talking to Gus. We’ll talk to J.K. – a couple of free agents that we had,” DeCosta said at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this week. “We’re hopeful that we can get something done with those guys.”
Edwards has been Baltimore’s main running back during Lamar Jackson’s playing career. The two have formed a prolific rushing tandem, with Edwards surpassing 700 yards rushing with limited carries in four of his five NFL seasons.
This past season, Edwards tallied career bests in rushing yards (810) and rushing scores (13). Dobbins unfortunately missed all but one game in 2023 after suffering a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 1.
Dobbins had his best season in 2020, when he rushed for 805 yards and nine touchdowns.
