The Baltimore Ravens have shared a concerning injury update on star quarterback Lamar Jackson ahead of Sunday’s Week 9 clash with the Baltimore Ravens.
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are coming off a stunning 27-29 loss to the Cleveland Browns that ended a five-game winning streak. Sunday’s game against Denver has massive playoff implications, as both teams are in postseason spots with identical 5-3 records.
There’s a chance that the Ravens may be without their franchise star, though.
On Thursday afternoon, ESPN’s Jamison Hensley reported that Jackson missed his second straight day of practice with back and knee injuries. It’s unclear if the reigning league MVP will suit up on Sunday.
Jackson missed 10 games over the 2021 and 2022 seasons with various injuries, as well as Baltimore’s Wild Card Round playoff game in the latter year. He stayed healthy last year, however, and only missed Week 18 because of rest after Baltimore locked up the AFC’s top seed.
Entering Week 9, Jackson has a 66.9 completion percentage for 2,099 yards, 17 touchdowns and just two interceptions to go along with 501 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Jackson is currently on pace to finish with his third 1,000-yard rushing season.
