The Buffalo Bills managed to beat the clock and complete a trade before the 4:00 p.m EST deadline.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Bills have acquired veteran cornerback Rasul Douglas and a fifth-round pick from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a third-round draft choice.
In an extremely rare instance, the Packers entered the deadline as a seller instead of being a buyer. Green Bay dropped its fourth straight contest on Sunday, falling 24-10 to the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field.
With Green Bay now at 2-5, GM Brian Gutekunst ultimately decided to move out one of his top defensive players for an early day two pick.
Buffalo needed cornerback help after losing Pro Bowler Tre’Davious White for the season with a torn Achilles in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins. So this is a fine piece of work by GM Brandon Beane, who adds an immediate impact starter to one of football’s top defensive units.
