Rashee Rice has taken a pretty serious step following the weekend’s developments.
The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver is coming off a productive season that ended up in a Super Bowl win, but he may have landed himself in trouble with the law.
According to the Dallas Morning News, police are searching for the wideout as a vehicle believed to be registered or leased to him was involved in a crash that left persons hospitalized.
A Dallas police spokeswoman told said publication that a driver in a Chevrolet Corvette and one in a Lamborghini were speeding on the 75 Central Expressway near Lover’s Lane around 6:20 PM on Saturday before they both lost control of their vehicles. The Lamborghini hit the median wall, resulting in “a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles.”
The drivers are said to have run from the scene of the crash, with camera footage showing one of the men bearing Rice’s resemblance. Four people suffered minor injuries, two of which were hospitalized.
It wasn’t clear whether the Chiefs pass catcher was facing charges as of Sunday. However, according to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, he has retained counsel.
“I’m told #Chiefs WR Rashee Rice has retained counsel, per source. Separately, a release on the incident is expected sometime tomorrow,” she shared to X on Sunday night.
