At this point in the season, we have a much better idea of which running backs are the x-factor for their offense—and which need to be x-ed off the roster—or at least out of the first string.
Let’s look around the NFL and stack them from 32 to 1!
Who are the top-ranking running backs in the NFL after week 15?
32. Denver Broncos: Javonte Williams (Last Week #30)
Week 15 marked another uninspiring performance from Javonte Williams. The Broncos running back finished with just six carries for 15 yards.
31. Las Vegas Raiders: Ameer Abdullah (Last Week #32)
Ameer Abdullah leaves a lot to be desired as a lead running back. The Raiders have to be regretting their decision to part ways with Josh Jacobs. At least he managed to get in the end zone through the air this week!
30. Los Angeles Chargers: Gus Edwards (Last Week: Not Ranked)

Gus Edwards struggled in J.K. Dobbins’ stead; he finished with a mere eight carries for 23 yards.
29. Jacksonville Jaguars: Travis Etienne Jr. (Last Week #31)
Travis Etienne struggled to get much going on the ground this week, turning 14 carries into just 65 yards.
28. Cleveland Browns: Nick Chubb (Last Week #25)
The loss of Nick Chubb to a broken foot is a gut punch of the highest order. He finished the game with nine carries for 41 yards before getting injured again.
27. Chicago Bears: D'Andre Swift (Last Week #29)
When the offensive line is on their game, D’Andre Swift is a force to be reckoned with coming out of the Bears backfield. He ran well on Monday Night despite the challenges that Chicago had in their passing game.
26. Pittsburgh Steelers: Najee Harris (Last Week #12)
Najee Harris was stuck in quicksand. The Eagles front seven smothered him, and Wilson’s struggles didn’t help open up lanes. He finished with an abysmal 14 yards on six carries.
25. New York Jets: Breece Hall (Last Week: Not Ranked)
New York had to be happy to have Hall back in the lineup, even if he wasn’t at his absolute best yet. He finished the game with nine carries for 30 yards and a score.
24. New York Giants: Tyrone Tracy (Last Week #21)
Running back Tyrone Tracy had one of his worst games of the season. The Giants lead back got 10 carries but managed just 31 yards.
23. Tennessee Titans: Tony Pollard (Last Week #22)
Tony Pollard was not at his best on Sunday. He did get into the end zone but only finished with 45 yards on 17 carries.
22. San Francisco 49ers: Isaac Guerendo (Last Week #10)
Isaac Guerendo has filled in nicely so far this year but was quiet at home on Thursday Night. He finished with 16 carries for 57 yards.
21. Washington Commanders: Brian Robinson Jr. (Last Week #20)
Brian Robinson was solid for Washington on Sunday, turning 11 carries into 66 yards. The running back’s powerful running style is a great complement to Jayden Daniels coming out of that backfield.
20. New England Patriots: Rhamondre Stevenson (Last Week #26)
Rhamondre Stevenson struggled to find any serious running lanes on Sunday but ran well through contact. He racked up 69 yards on 13 carries.
19. New Orleans Saints: Alvin Kamara (Last Week #15)
Alvin Kamara did not have his best stuff in Week 15. He turned five carries into only 12 yards. Fortunately, he was able to salvage the performance with his four catches for 58 yards and a touchdown.
18. Miami Dolphins: De'Von Achane (Last Week #16)
De’Von Achane was uncharacteristically quiet this week, converting 12 carries into 41 yards. He also chipped in seven catches for 35 yards.
17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Bucky Irving (Last Week: Not Ranked)
Bucky Irving put his foot on the gas and didn’t let up. The rookie tore through the Chargers defense for 117 yards.
16. Kansas City Chiefs: Isiah Pacheco (Last Week #13)
Isiah Pacheco had an uninspiring performance, splitting time with Kareem Hunt on Sunday. His 13 carries netted just 32 yards and no scores.
15. Houston Texans: Joe Mixon (Last Week #7)
This was far and away the worst outing we’ve seen from Joe Mixon as a Texan. The veteran running back turned 12 carries into just 23 yards.
14. Buffalo Bills: James Cook (Last Week #24)
James Cook continues to impress this season. He took 14 carries for 105 yards and two scores and chipped in one catch for 28 through the air.
13. Carolina Panthers: Chuba Hubbard (Last Week #8)
Chuba Hubbard was surprisingly ineffective on Sunday. He took 10 carries for 32 yards and added four catches for 17 yards.
12. Minnesota Vikings: Aaron Jones (Last Week #17)
Aaron Jones has been a nice pick-up for the Vikings. His veteran presence coming out of the backfield has created a balanced attack, especially when he can find the end zone like he did on Monday against Chicago.
11. Cincinnati Bengals: Chase Brown (Last Week #19)
Chase Brown had a big game on Sunday, turning 25 carries into 97 yards and a score while also managing to chip in three catches for 16 yards and another touchdown.
10. Seattle Seahawks: Zach Charbonnet (Last Week #9)
Zach Charbonnet was effective despite limited usage. The burly running back turned eight carries into 54 yards and a touchdown.
9. Indianapolis Colts: Jonathan Taylor (Last Week #14)
Jonathan Taylor had one of his best games in weeks, minus his goal-line gaffe. He took 22 carries for 107 yards, but it wasn’t enough, as the Colts couldn’t get over the hump.
8. Dallas Cowboys: Rico Dowdle (Last Week #18)
Rico Dowdle had one of his best games of the year, running buck-wild on the Panthers’ defense. He took his 25 carries for an impressive 149 yards.
7. Arizona Cardinals: James Conner (Last Week #11)
James Conner ran like a man possessed, plowing through defenders for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
6. Baltimore Ravens: Derrick Henry (Last Week #3)
Star running back Derrick Henry wasn’t asked to do much on Sunday against a weak Giants side. He finished with just 14 low-stress carries for 67 yards.
5. Atlanta Falcons: Bijan Robinson (Last Week #4)
Bijan Robinson is the truth. He’s electric, dynamic, and everything the Falcons hoped he’d be when they drafted him. He had no trouble getting up over 100 yards on the ground against the Raiders on Monday Night.
4. Los Angeles Rams: Kyren Williams (Last Week #6)
Kyren Williams ran with purpose on Thursday, turning 29 carries into 108 yards.
3. Philadelphia Eagles: Saquon Barkley (Last Week #1)
Superstar running back Saquon Barkley had a relatively pedestrian performance. He took 19 carries for 65 yards in the big statement win.
2. Detroit Lions: Jahmyr Gibbs (Last Week #5)
Jahmyr Gibbs had eight carries for 31 yards and one touchdown. He was a game-changer in the passing game as well, catching five passes for 83 yards and a score.
1. Green Bay Packers: Josh Jacobs (Last Week #2)
Josh Jacobs did what he does best: churn out tough yards and set the tone. Ninety-four yards and a bulldozing touchdown made life easier for Love and kept the Seahawks’ defense honest.
