No matter what anyone tells you, the ground game still matters, especially at this time of year, but not every team has a workhorse who can deliver when it counts.
From the duds to the most dominant running backs in the game, let’s see who’s leading the charge and who’s slowing their team down—32 to 1!
Who are the top-ranking running backs in the NFL after week 14?
32. Las Vegas Raiders: Ameer Abdullah (Last Week #31)
Ameer Abdullah was a complete non-factor, logging just one carry. It seems like the Raiders are moving forward with Sincere McCormick as their primary back.
31. Jacksonville Jaguars: Travis Etienne Jr. (Last Week #32)
Another rough outing for Etienne, who lost significant reps to Tank Bigsby. Four carries for 20 yards just doesn’t cut it, though his 50 receiving yards on four catches offered a shred of redemption.
30. Denver Broncos: Javonte Williams (Bye) (Last Week #30)

Javonte Williams has been working his way back from injury, showing occasional glimpses of his old self. The bye week came at a good time for the bruising back.
29. Chicago Bears: D’Andre Swift (Last Week #23)
Running back D’Andre Swift got stonewalled by a revitalized Bears defense, managing just 38 yards on 14 carries. It was a frustrating day all around.
28. Los Angeles Chargers: Gus Edwards (Last Week #29)
Gus Edwards struggled to find room against the Chiefs’ stout front. He finished with 36 yards on 10 carries but salvaged his day with a touchdown plunge.
27. New York Jets: Braelon Allen (Not Ranked)
Thrust into the lead role with Breece Hall out, Braelon Allen couldn’t capitalize. He finished with 43 yards on 11 carries, finding no space against Miami’s defense.
26. New England Patriots: Rhamondre Stevenson (Bye) (Last Week #25)
It’s been a tough year for Stevenson, but much of the blame falls on the Patriots’ porous offensive line. The bye week gives him a chance to regroup.
25. Cleveland Browns: Nick Chubb (Last Week #21)
Running back Nick Chubb’s return has been underwhelming. He was bottled up for 48 yards on 11 carries, unable to provide the spark the Browns desperately need.
24. Buffalo Bills: James Cook (Last Week #7)
James Cook barely saw the ball, thanks to Josh Allen taking over. Six carries for 20 yards is hardly what the Bills need from their lead back.
23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Rachaad White (Last Week #26)
Rachaad White delivered a steady performance, racking up 90 yards on 17 carries and punching in two touchdowns. A bright spot for Tampa Bay’s offense.
22. Tennessee Titans: Tony Pollard (Last Week #27)
Tony Pollard was one of the few bright spots for the Titans. He tallied 102 yards on 21 carries and chipped in 22 more through the air.
21. New York Giants: Tyrone Tracy (Last Week #22)
Running back Tyrone Tracy couldn’t find much room to run, but he salvaged his day with a touchdown and 83 total yards thanks to five receptions.
20. Washington Commanders: Brian Robinson Jr. (Bye) (Last Week #16)
Brian Robinson Jr. continues to be the workhorse for Washington, grinding out tough yards with his powerful running style.
19. Cincinnati Bengals: Chase Brown (Last Week #17)
Chase Brown hasn’t hit Joe Mixon’s level, but he’s holding his own as the Bengals’ starter. He’s showing promise with every game. He finished with 14 carries for 58 yards.
18. Dallas Cowboys: Rico Dowdle (Last Week #18)
Rico Dowdle is starting to flash potential in the Cowboys’ system, reminiscent of Tony Pollard a few years back. His upside is intriguing. Monday Night, he put that on display with 18 carries for 131 yards, one of the best outings of his career as a running back.
17. Minnesota Vikings: Aaron Jones (Last Week #20)
Aaron Jones had a solid day, turning 13 carries into 73 yards and a touchdown. He’s still a reliable playmaker when healthy.
16. Miami Dolphins: De’Von Achane (Last Week #9)
Achane didn’t light it up on the ground (24 yards on 14 carries), but he found the end zone and added 45 receiving yards on six catches.
15. New Orleans Saints: Alvin Kamara (Last Week #10)
Kamara wasn’t at his explosive best, but he managed 79 scrimmage yards on 22 touches. Not flashy, but effective.
14. Indianapolis Colts: Jonathan Taylor (Bye) (Last Week #13)
When healthy, Jonathan Taylor is a game-changer. But staying on the field has been his biggest challenge this season for the Colts running back.
13. Kansas City Chiefs: Isiah Pacheco (Last Week #15)
Isiah Pacheco fought for every yard, finishing with 55 on 14 carries. He’s starting to regain his form after returning from injury.
12. Pittsburgh Steelers: Najee Harris (Last Week #14)
Najee Harris was a bruising presence, grinding out 53 yards and a short touchdown. He’s the hammer in Pittsburgh’s offense.
11. Arizona Cardinals: James Conner (Last Week #12)
James Conner continues his hard-nosed running style, carrying the load for Arizona and delivering consistent, tough yards.
10. San Francisco 49ers: Isaac Guerendo (Not Ranked)
Isaac Guerendo stepped in for Christian McCaffrey and thrived. He totaled 128 yards and two touchdowns, proving he was ready for the moment.
9. Seattle Seahawks: Zach Charbonnet (Not Ranked)
Zach Charbonnet bulldozed his way to 134 yards and two scores, showing the Seahawks’ ground game can flourish without Kenneth Walker III.
8. Carolina Panthers: Chuba Hubbard (Last Week #11)
Running back Chuba Hubbard had another solid outing, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. A steady force in the Panthers’ backfield.
7. Houston Texans: Joe Mixon (Bye) (Last Week #6)
In a disappointing season for the Texans, Joe Mixon has been their steadiest offensive contributor. A reliable veteran presence.
6. Los Angeles Rams: Kyren Williams (Last Week #8)
Kyren Williams kept the Rams’ offense rolling, logging 87 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. A workhorse performance.
5. Detroit Lions: Jahmyr Gibbs (Last Week #5)
Jahmyr Gibbs balanced the Lions’ offense with 43 rushing yards and a receiving touchdown. Versatile, dynamic, and productive.
4. Atlanta Falcons: Bijan Robinson (Last Week #4)
Bijan Robinson continues to shine despite Atlanta’s messy offense. He racked up 92 yards and a score on 22 carries. A future star running back.
3. Baltimore Ravens: Derrick Henry (Bye) (Last Week #3)
King Henry’s still got it. His first season with the Ravens has been vintage Henry: powerful, punishing, and relentless.
2. Green Bay Packers: Josh Jacobs (Last Week #2)
Josh Jacobs was a touchdown machine on Thursday Night Football, scoring three times and powering the Packers with 66 tough yards.
1. Philadelphia Eagles: Saquon Barkley (Last Week #1)
Star running back Saquon Barkley is on a tear, surpassing LeSean McCoy’s single-season rushing record with 1,623 yards. Over 100 more yards this week — a true workhorse.
