The 2024 season has been a showcase of dynamic running back play, and after 11 weeks, the pecking order is becoming clearer.
Let’s take a look around the NFL landscape and rank them all from 32 to 1.
Who are the top-ranking running backs in the NFL after week 11?
32. Las Vegas Raiders: Alexander Mattison (Last Week #32)
The Raiders continue to show no ability to rush the football, as their lead back, Alexander Mattison, managed just five carries for 19 yards. He managed to contribute in the passing game, at least, notching three receptions for 50 yards.
31. Tennessee Titans: Tony Pollard (Last Week #28)
Brutal showing from Tony Pollard this week against a strong Minnesota defensive line. He finished with just 18 yards on seven carries.
30. Jacksonville Jaguars: Travis Etienne Jr. (Last Week #30)

Travis Etienne really struggled to find any running room in Week 11 against a stout Lions defense. His 12 carries amounted to just 27 yards.
29. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Rachaad White (bye) (Last Week #30)
Rachaad White came into the season with a lot of hype, but he has really struggled to find his role in this offense and earn chunks of yards consistently.
28. Cleveland Browns: Nick Chubb (Last Week #31)
Another challenging week for Nick Chubb, who frankly hasn’t looked the same since returning from injury. He finished with 11 carries for 50 yards.
27. Minnesota Vikings: Aaron Jones (Last Week #22)
Aaron Jones did not have a particularly inspiring performance on Sunday. The veteran running back totaled just 39 yards on 15 carries.
26. Dallas Cowboys: Rico Dowdle (Last Week #24)
The Cowboys’ rushing attack hasn’t been great this season, and though he’s had a couple of solid games, running back Rico Dowdle is no exception.
25. Seattle Seahawks: Kenneth Walker III (Last Week #27)
Kenneth Walker had a nice afternoon, turning his 14 carries into a respectable 54 yards and a touchdown.
24. New England Patriots: Rhamondre Stevenson (Last Week #26)
The Patriots rushing attack was modest but effective in this game, led by Rhamondre Stevenson, who turned 20 carries into 73 yards.
23. Chicago Bears: D'Andre Swift (Last Week #25)
D’Andre Swift had a big game on Sunday for the Bears, turning 14 carries into 71 yards and a score.
22. New York Giants: Tyrone Tracy (bye) (Last Week #20)
While much has been made about New York’s former running back’s performance for their division rival, they have actually managed to find a diamond in the rough in Tyrone Tracy.
21. San Francisco 49ers: Christian McCaffrey (Last Week #21)
Christian McCaffrey was impressive as he started to round back into form, turning 19 carries into 79 yards on the ground. The star running back also added four catches for 27 yards.
20. Kansas City Chiefs: Kareem Hunt (Last Week #11)
Kareem Hunt was solid but nothing special against a fired-up Buffalo defense this week. The veteran back finished with 60 yards on 14 carries.
19. Denver Broncos: Javonte Williams (Not Ranked)
Javonte Williams ran with purpose on Sunday, taking nine carries for 59 yards and a score.
18. Buffalo Bills: James Cook (Last Week #16)
James Cook didn’t put up big numbers, with just 20 yards on nine carries and seven yards on five receptions, but he did manage to find the end zone twice!
17. Pittsburgh Steelers: Najee Harris (Last Week #15)
Najee Harris was solid for the Steelers this week, racking up 94 yards from scrimmage on 22 touches.
16. Cincinnati Bengals: Chase Brown (Last Week #14)
Good showing from Chase Brown in Week 11, as the running back totaled 86 yards on 22 carries and added five catches for 57 yards in the passing game.
15. New Orleans Saints: Alvin Kamara (Last Week #10)
Alvin Kamara quietly contributed 67 rushing yards on 16 carries, providing the consistency and patience needed to complement Hill’s explosive day.
14. Miami Dolphins: De'Von Achane (Last Week #17)
De’Von Achane looked super explosive and impressive in Week 11, notching 73 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.
13. Washington Commanders: Austin Ekeler (Last Week #19)
Austin Ekeler was, frankly, the bulk of the Commanders passing attack in Week 11. The veteran running back only carried the ball twice for seven yards, but eight receptions for 89 yards were a major contribution.
12. Los Angeles Chargers: J.K. Dobbins (Last Week #13)
J.K. Dobbins was the hero on the ground, scoring two touchdowns, including the 29-yard game-winner on 11 carries for 56 yards.
11. Los Angeles Rams: Kyren Williams (Last Week #12)
Kyren Williams provided a steady presence in the backfield, rushing for 86 yards and grinding out tough yards to keep the offense balanced during a game where the passing attack was the main story.
10. Indianapolis Colts: Jonathan Taylor (Last Week #6)
Jonathan Taylor didn’t have a great game, but his presence kept the Jets defense honest. The former All-Pro finished with 57 yards on 24 carries.
9. New York Jets: Breece Hall (Last Week #18)
There have been many problems in New York this year, but Breece Hall in Week 11 was not one. The talented running back turned his 16 carries into 78 yards and a touchdown and also managed to add another 43 yards and a score on his seven receptions.
8. Atlanta Falcons: Bijan Robinson (Last Week #1)
Bijan Robinson struggled to get much going against a focused Broncos defense this week. He finished with 12 carries for 35 yards and added four catches for 28.
7. Houston Texans: Joe Mixon (Last Week #8)
After being cast aside by the Cincinnati Bengals this offseason, Joe Mixon has had a nice run of it this year in Houston. He did a nice job chipping away against a strong Cowboys front and powering in three touchdowns in the win.
6. Detroit Lions: Jahmyr Gibbs (Last Week #9)
Jahmyr Gibbs was impressive, as was most of the Lions’ offense this week. He finished with 11 carries for 62 yards and a score, and he tacked on one big reception for 54 yards.
5. Carolina Panthers: Chuba Hubbard (bye) (Last Week #7)
Chuba Hubbard has had a breakout year and has really been the only consistent performer on offense for the Panthers.
4. Arizona Cardinals: James Conner (bye) (Last Week #5)
James Conner has been a workhorse and the heartbeat of this offense. Ranking among the tops in the league in rushing, the star running back’s physical running style has been a game-changer, especially late in contests.
3. Baltimore Ravens: Derrick Henry (Last Week #2)
Have to wonder why Harbaugh went away from running the ball with Derrick Henry a little bit this week. Tractorcito had 13 carries for 65 yards and a score.
2. Green Bay Packers: Josh Jacobs (Last Week #3)
Another massive game for Josh Jacobs, who took 18 carries for 76 yards and a score while also adding four receptions for 58 yards in the passing game.
1. Philadelphia Eagles: Saquon Barkley (Last Week #4)
Saquon Barkley was the story of the game against Washington. With 146 yards, including two massive fourth-quarter touchdowns, Barkley now leads the NFL in rushing and has proven to be worth every penny of his free-agent contract.
