The NFL season is in full swing, and after ten weeks of action, we’re getting a clear view of the league’s running back landscape.
Let’s rank all 32 NFL starting running backs, from the players at the bottom grinding it out week after week to keep their jobs to the top of the top, who are powering their teams’ offenses!
Who are the top-ranking running backs in the NFL after week 10?
32. Las Vegas Raiders (bye): Alexander Mattison (Last Week #32)
Alexander Mattison has really struggled to get much going on the ground, as he has been toggled in and out of the lineup all year.
31. Cleveland Browns (bye): Nick Chubb (Last Week #30)
While it has been very inspirational to watch Nick Chubb make his way back to action, he really hasn’t looked like his old self yet since re-joining the team.
30. Jacksonville Jaguars: Travis Etienne Jr. (Not Ranked)

Tank Bigsby stepped aside for the now-healthy Travis Etienne Jr., who struggled to find space against a Vikings defense that was content to pin its ears back against a team with Mac Jones under center. He finished with just 44 yards on 11 carries.
29. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Rachaad White (Last Week #31)
Rachaad White was out-rushed by his NFL running back mate, Bucky Irving, on Sunday but managed to have a nice afternoon by contributing in the passing game to the tune of six catches for 39 yards and a touchdown.
28. Tennessee Titans: Tony Pollard (Last Week #16)
Tony Pollard was not particularly impressive Sunday against an admittedly tough Chargers defense. He finished the game with just 44 yards on the ground.
27. Seattle Seahawks (bye): Kenneth Walker III (Last Week #24)
Kenneth Walker has the burst to break one wide open but also the patience to wait for his blocks. Walker’s adding a physicality to this offense that’s tough to match.
26. New England Patriots: Rhamondre Stevenson (Last Week #29)
Rhamondre Stevenson ran with purpose on Sunday, turning 20 carries into 74 yards.
25. Chicago Bears: D'Andre Swift (Last Week #15)
D’Andre Swift had a decent showing on Sunday, turning 16 carries into 59 yards, but the rest of the offense really couldn’t get anything going.
24. Dallas Cowboys: Rico Dowdle (Last Week #22)
Rico Dowdle was the most reliable source of offense for the Cowboys in Week 10 but only managed 53 yards on 12 carries.
23. Denver Broncos: Audric Estime (Not Ranked)
Javonte Williams has been demoted, and now the bulk of the work has fallen to Audric Estime, who ran reasonably well, turning 14 carries into 53 yards.
22. Minnesota Vikings: Aaron Jones (Last Week #23)
Aaron Jones gave the Vikings some stability on the ground, even returning after a rib injury in the third quarter. He finished with 17 carries for 88 yards and chipped in two catches for another 13, putting him over 100 yards from scrimmage for the day.
21. San Francisco 49ers: Christian McCaffrey (Not Ranked)
Christian McCaffrey returned from his mysterious Achilles issue and had a relatively quiet day on the ground, with just 39 yards on 13 carries, but thankfully made an impact in the passing game, showing off his versatility with 68 receiving yards.
20. New York Giants: Tyrone Tracy (Last Week #28)
Tyrone Tracy is starting to prove himself as one of the better backs in the league, as he took 18 carries for 103 yards and a score, though he did have an extremely costly late-game fumble.
19. Washington Commanders: Austin Ekeler (Last Week #21)
Austin Ekeler was solid and steady, delivering two touchdowns that put the Commanders in a position to win.
18. New York Jets: Breece Hall (Last Week #18)
Breece Hall had a nice game despite his team’s offensive struggles. The talented NFL running back turned 10 carries into 52 yards and tacked on four receptions for 31 yards.
17. Miami Dolphins: De'Von Achane (Last Week #14)
Achane is explosive and can make big plays, but without Tua, defenses were stacking the box and making things challenging. He could be poised for a much stronger second half of the season if the Dolphins can keep their QB1 upright.
16. Buffalo Bills: James Cook (Last Week #20)
James Cook came through with 80 gritty yards and a late touchdown to seal the win. He’s become a great 1-2 punch with Allen.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers: Najee Harris (Last Week #10)
Najee Harris struggled to find space today, as his 21 carries amounted to just 53 yards, but he did well to get into the end zone.
14. Cincinnati Bengals: Chase Brown (Last Week #17)
Chase Brown had a nice game, taking nine catches for 52 yards and 13 carries for 42 yards and a touchdown.
13. Los Angeles Chargers: J.K. Dobbins (Last Week #7)
J.K. Dobbins had a modest showing in Week 10, turning 15 carries into 50 yards.
12. Los Angeles Rams: Kyren Williams (Last Week #13)
Kyren Williams has stepped up big time this season. The star NFL running back has shown he can grind out tough yards, break free on the outside, and fight for extra yards when he needs to.
11. Kansas City Chiefs: Kareem Hunt (Last Week #9)
Kareem Hunt had a modest day on the ground with just 35 rushing yards, but he contributed with seven catches for 65 yards.
10. New Orleans Saints: Alvin Kamara (Last Week #6)
Sunday was both productive and historic for Alvin Kamara, who racked up 109 total yards, surpassing Mark Ingram as the franchise’s all-time leading rusher.
9. Detroit Lions: Jahmyr Gibbs (Last Week #11)
Jahmyr Gibbs had a nice game on Sunday Night, taking 19 carries for 71 yards. He also chipped in two catch-and-runs for 37 yards.
8. Houston Texans: Joe Mixon (Last Week #5)
While he may not have had another 100-yard explosion, Joe Mixon had a nice game on Sunday, combining for 90 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown.
7. Carolina Panthers: Chuba Hubbard (Last Week #19)
With 153 yards on 28 carries and a touchdown, Hubbard was the clear offensive workhorse, keeping the Panthers’ drives alive and setting up key scoring opportunities.
6. Indianapolis Colts: Jonathan Taylor (Last Week #12)
Jonathan Taylor was impressive to watch run the football in Week 10, as the star NFL running back turned 21 carries into 114 yards.
5. Arizona Cardinals: James Conner (Last Week #8)
James Conner was a great complement to Kyler on Sunday for the Cardinals, catching five passes for 80 yards, including a 44-yard gain, and added 33 yards and a score on the ground.
4. Philadelphia Eagles: Saquon Barkley (Last Week #1)
Saquon Barkley had a solid afternoon despite not much being asked of him. He turned 15 touches into 81 yards from scrimmage.
3. Green Bay Packers: Josh Jacobs (Last Week #3)
Josh Jacobs has been a reliable force in the backfield, leading the team with 667 rushing yards. He is starting to look more and more like the version of himself that led the league in rushing a couple of years back.
2. Baltimore Ravens: Derrick Henry (Last Week #2)
The Ravens’ backfield was mostly a supporting act, with Jackson stealing the show, but Derrick Henry did punch in a touchdown that helped bring the game back within reach.
1. Atlanta Falcons: Bijan Robinson (Last Week #4)
Bijan Robinson continues to impress. The second-year back had a monster afternoon, turning 20 carries into 116 yards and two touchdowns. He also added another three catches for 28 through the air.
