The NFL quarterback landscape is always evolving, and through three weeks of the 2024 season, it’s shaping up to be more competitive than ever.
But where do all these NFL quarterbacks stack up against each other? Who’s leading the pack? Who’s holding their team back?
There are bound to be a few surprises along the way, so let’s dive in and break it all down, starting from 32 and working our way up to the top!
Who are the top quarterbacks in the NFL after week three of games?
32. Tennessee Titans: Will Levis (Last Week #28)
Will Levis continues to struggle with turnovers, throwing two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. The arm talent and the moxie are there, but Levis needs to learn how to take care of the ball better soon, or he is going to lose his job.
31. Miami Dolphins: Skylar Thompson (Not Ranked)
Skylar Thompson started the game relatively well, completing 13 of 19 passes for 107 yards, but his day was cut short by a rib injury. The quarterback position looks like it could be a struggle for the Dolphins if Tua can’t recuperate in short order.

30. Cleveland Browns: Deshaun Watson (Last Week #29)
Deshaun Watson had another ugly performance, throwing for just 196 yards while taking eight sacks. Watson struggled to find any sort of rhythm, and his fumble in the fourth quarter was backbreaking.
29. Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Richardson (Last Week #27)
Anthony Richardson’s growing pains were on full display, completing only 10 of 20 passes for 167 yards with two ill-timed interceptions. While the physical skillset is enticing, alarms have to be sounding in the Colts’ front office.
28. Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams (Last Week #31)
Caleb Williams looked better this week as he continues to improve early in his rookie season. He finished the game with a career-high 363 yards passing but needs to protect the football better, as the interceptions were costly.
27. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence (Last Week #24)
Well… it has gone from bad to worse for Trevor Lawrence with his latest embarrassment. Monday Night Football was not kind to the former number one overall pick, as he struggled all night, finishing with just 178 yards and, again, failed to take care of the football.
26. New York Giants: Daniel Jones (Last Week #30)
Giants fans can finally exhale as they see the first signs of life out of Daniel Jones in nearly two years. Jones was efficient, completing 24 of 34 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns, both to rookie Malik Nabers, who is quickly becoming his favorite target.
25. New England Patriots: Jacoby Brissett (Last Week #22)
Week 3 was a tough showing for Jacoby Brissett, as the journeyman couldn’t get anything going. Brissett completed just 12 passes for 98 yards before being replaced late in the game, in part due to the constant pressure he faced from New York’s relentless defense.
24. Las Vegas Raiders: Gardner Minshew (Last Week #20)
This is the Gardner Minshew experience. One week up to the highest of highs with an epic comeback, the next week the lowest of lows, as they fall to the Carolina Panthers with the journeyman throwing for just 214 yards and one touchdown with one interception in the process.
23. Denver Broncos: Bo Nix (Last Week #25)
Bo Nix secured his first NFL win, going 25 of 36 for 216 yards and avoiding the costly turnovers that plagued him in his first two games. That is a major win for both Nix and Sean Payton, who hand-picked him.
22. Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert (Last Week #10)
Justin Herbert didn’t look great in Week 3, playing through an ankle injury, as he seemed uncomfortable in the pocket all game and couldn’t muster enough offense to keep the Chargers competitive. His stat line of 125 yards and a touchdown was troubling, but the inability to generate explosive plays downfield made things challenging for their run game.
21. Green Bay Packers: Malik Willis (Last Week #23)
Malik Willis put together his best performance as a pro, throwing for 202 yards, rushing for 73 more, and totaling two touchdowns. An impressive turnaround from a guy that most around the league had written off as a complete bust.
20. Detroit Lions: Jared Goff (Last Week #21)
Jared Goff was crisp in the first half, completing his first 14 passes and throwing for two touchdowns. He cooled off in the second half but made a key scramble late to secure the win. When all was said and done, Goff finished 18 of 23 for 199 yards.
19. Carolina Panthers: Andy Dalton (Not Ranked)
The Red Rifle was back in grand fashion this week, throwing for 319 yards and three touchdowns in his first start of the season, which, uncoincidentally, coincided with the Panthers’ first win.
18. Washington Commanders: Jayden Daniels (Last Week #26)
The No. 2 overall pick completed 21 of 23 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns, setting a rookie record for completion percentage at 91.3%. Daniels showed poise beyond his years, standing tall against a persistent pass rush and helping deliver a massive win for the franchise.
17. Los Angeles Rams: Matthew Stafford (Last Week #19)
Matthew Stafford showed his veteran poise, leading the Rams on a remarkable fourth-quarter comeback. Despite a slow start, Stafford finished with 221 yards, delivering key throws to Tutu Atwell and Kyren Williams to secure a major win.
16. Pittsburgh Steelers: Justin Fields (Last Week #18)
Sorry, Russ, things aren’t looking good for you upon your return because Justin Fields delivered another strong performance. He shredded a strong Chargers defense with precision and confidence, completing 25 of 32 passes for 245 yards, with one touchdown through the air and another on the ground. Fields managed the game exceptionally well, and it’s going to be hard for Pittsburgh to even think about making the move to Wilson if he keeps playing like this.
15. Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott (Last Week #14)
Week 3 was the quintessential Dak Prescott performance. He threw for a massive 379 yards and two touchdowns but in a losing effort. Prescott looked in command but couldn’t finish when it mattered most.
14. Atlanta Falcons: Kirk Cousins (Last Week #8)
Coming off his epic comeback effort in Week 2, Kirk Cousin had a solid but not earth-shattering performance against the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. Cousins was 20 of 29 for 230 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown pass to Drake London and a 50-yard completion to Kyle Pitts that set up Bijan Robinson’s 1-yard punch-in.
13. Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts (Last Week #12)
Jalen Hurts bounced back this week after some concerning early play, completing 29 of 38 passes for 311 yards in a big win over the Saints. Though he threw one interception, his playmaking ability on the ground and through the air continues to push the Eagles’ offense to new heights.
12. Seattle Seahawks: Geno Smith (Last Week #13)
Geno Smith had a solid day, throwing for 289 yards and a massive touchdown to DK Metcalf. Despite two interceptions, Smith controlled the game well, making key throws when needed and leading a nice scoring drive in the fourth quarter, which was the icing on the cake of an easy win.
11. Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray (Last Week #4)
Kyler Murray took a step back this week after torching the Rams, but he was solid, all things considered. He threw for 207 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, but his offense could only manage 13 points as they struggled to finish drives.
10. New York Jets: Aaron Rodgers (Last Week #17)
Aaron Rodgers looked like his old self on Thursday night because of the way he orchestrated the Jets offense with such precision. He threw for 281 yards, completing 77% of his passes, and connected with Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard for two scores.
9. Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson (Last Week #11)
Lamar Jackson was efficient and dynamic, accounting for two touchdowns—one through the air and one on the ground—while also rushing for 87 yards. Jackson was also extremely accurate, completing 12 of 15 passes for 182 yards in a commanding win.
8. New Orleans Saints: Derek Carr (Last Week #3)
Derek Carr struggled against the Eagles’ defense, finishing with just 142 yards on 14-of-25 passing. His late touchdown to Chris Olave briefly gave the Saints a lead, but his demons resurfaced in the closing minutes, as his interception sealed New Orleans’s fate.
7. San Francisco 49ers: Brock Purdy (Last Week #16)
Brock Purdy had a solid outing, throwing for 292 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, but he couldn’t find a way to close out the game as the Niners fell to 1 – 2. Still, Purdy looked sharp and continues to impress as a young quarterback in the NFL.
6. Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud (Last Week #2)
C.J. Stroud had a difficult outing, perhaps the worst of his professional career thus far, throwing for 215 yards with two interceptions in a surprising loss to Minnesota. It was a humbling moment for the rookie after a red-hot start to the season.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield (Last Week #1)
Granted, he was under constant pressure all game, but Baker Mayfield really came back down to earth this week against Denver, finishing 25 of 33 for just 163 yards with a touchdown and an interception. It’s clear he’s still adjusting, but Week 3 was a far cry from the MVP-esque performances from the first two weeks.
4. Minnesota Vikings: Sam Darnold (Last Week #7)
Sam Darnold delivered a solid performance, throwing for 181 yards and four touchdowns without any turnovers. It’s amazing what can happen to a guy when he escapes a horrible franchise like the Panthers!
3. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow (Last Week #9)
Joe Burrow’s performance was solid statistically—324 yards and three touchdowns—but it wasn’t enough to secure the win, which is what a quarterback like Burrow is judged on, especially when his NFL team is off to such a poor start.
2. Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen (Last Week #5)
Josh Allen was nothing short of spectacular, going 22 of 28 in the first half for 247 yards and four touchdowns. This is the level that we’ve been waiting to see from Josh, and if he can maintain it, Buffalo will be firmly back in the Super Bowl conversation.
1. Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes (Last Week #6)
As has been the case thus far this season, Patrick Mahomes wasn’t at his best, but he continues to find a way to get the job done and secure victories for the Chiefs. He finished the matchup against Atlanta having completed 26 of 39 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, keeping Kansas City at the top.
