Listen, at this point, we all know that NFL teams need to have a good – or at least competent quarterback to be successful.
Let’s take a look around the league after Week 2 and rank all 32 starting signal callers from worst to first!
Who are the top quarterbacks in the NFL after week two of games?
32. Carolina Panthers: Bryce Young (Last Week #31)
Bryce Young continues to look completely out of his depths. The second-year NFL quarterback finished with a miserable 84 passing yards on 26 attempts, which is tough to do, not to mention an interception and another L added to what is looking like an insurmountable pile of losses.
31. Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams (Last Week #29)
Once again, Caleb Williams looked like a rookie NFL quarterback in the worst way possible during his Sunday Night Football debut. The first-overall pick flashed some mobility, escaping pressure a few times, but his two second-half interceptions were brutal, and 174 passing yards with no touchdowns won’t cut it.
30. New York Giants: Daniel Jones (Last Week #32)

On paper, Daniel Jones had a respectable day, completing 16 of 28 for 178 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions, but he better be giving Malik Nabers all the credit, considering he caught 10 of those passes, including the lone touchdown, for 127 yards.
29. Cleveland Browns: Deshaun Watson (Last Week #30)
Deshaun Watson may not have cost his team the game this week, but his passing was mediocre at best. He finished completing 22-of-34 for 186 yards, which won’t inspire much confidence for a team that otherwise could have Super Bowl aspirations.
28. Tennessee Titans: Will Levis (Last Week #27)
Will Levis continued to show that he still has a lot of growing up to do in the NFL. Five turnovers in six quarters to start the year isn’t what the Titans wanted to see at all.
27. Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Richardson (Last Week #20)
It is obvious that the athleticism and arm talent are there, but it may be time to ask if starting Anthony Richardson is the right decision for the Colts. The second-year NFL quarterback made a ton of costly mistakes through two games this year, including three interceptions on Sunday in what was an extremely winnable game.

26. Washington Commanders: Jayden Daniels (Last Week #28)
Aside from the penalties his offense committed, Jayden Daniels showed composure beyond his years in just his second NFL start. His 23-of-29 passing for 226 yards didn’t jump off the stat sheet, but he managed the game well, minimized rookie mistakes, and led the Commanders to a critical division win against the Giants.
25. Denver Broncos: Bo Nix (Last Week #24)
It’s not looking great for Sean Payton’s boy coming out of the gate. Bo Nix struggled again this week, throwing for 246 yards but no touchdowns and two interceptions, continuing a tough rookie campaign.
24. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence (Last Week #18)
Trevor Lawrence had one of those games where nothing seemed to go right. Completing just 14 of 30 passes and being sacked four times, Lawrence looked frustrated and out of sync. Not a great sign for Jacksonville considering they just locked him up long-term.
23. Green Bay Packers: Malik Willis (Last Week Not Ranked)
While there were doubters left, right, and center heading into Malik Willis’s Packers debut, and rightfully so, he did well to manage the game effectively. Willis did exactly what was asked of him en route to the win, completing 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards.
22. New England Patriots: Jacoby Brissett (Last Week #17)
Jacoby Brissett showed why he’s mainly been a career backup this week, as he played a competent but way too conservative game against the Seahawks. He finished with just 149 yards on 15 completions, failing to put enough pressure on Seattle to put them away.
21. Detroit Lions: Jared Goff (Last Week #16)
Yes, Jared Goff compiled some solid yardage—307 yards on 34 completions, but his mistakes were costly, and he finished the game with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Perhaps more concerning was the offense’s continued struggles in the red zone.
20. Las Vegas Raiders: Gardner Minshew (Last Week #26)
Gardner Minshew put his gunslinging chops to the test on Sunday against a tough Ravens defense and came out victorious. The journeyman NFL quarterback was surprisingly consistent, completing 30 of 38 passes for 276 yards and a pivotal touchdown to Davante Adams in the comeback effort.
19. Los Angeles Rams: Matthew Stafford (Last Week #9)
It was not Matthew Stafford’s week. Plain and simple. He entered the contest without Puka Nacua, proceeded to lose Cooper Kupp, and got beat up all game by a nasty Cardinals defense.
18. Pittsburgh Steelers: Justin Fields (Last Week #23)
He didn’t exactly light up the stat sheet, but then again, he didn’t have to. Justin Fields executed extremely well on Sunday, throwing for 117 yards and a touchdown and making a number of really slick plays in the process.
17. New York Jets: Aaron Rodgers (Last Week #25)
Aaron Rodgers may be getting a little long in the tooth, but the man can still ball. Sure, he wasn’t slinging it all over the field like his MVP days, but his 176 yards and two touchdowns were enough to get the Jets their first win of the season, and that TD pass to Braelon Allen was vintage Rodgers, calm and cool under pressure.
16. San Francisco 49ers: Brock Purdy (Last Week #13)
Brock Purdy was good but not great this week. He finished with an impressive 319 yards and one score while surrendering one interception, but he struggled in the red zone and in a few critical third-down situations.
15. Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa (Last Week #7)
Tua’s night got off to a rough start and ended in the worst possible way, with another gnarly concussion. The southpaw finished with just 145 yards and three interceptions before getting bounced from action.
14. Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott (Last Week #6)
Dak Prescott’s counting numbers looked alright on Sunday, as he went 27 for 29 with 293 yards, but he threw two brutal picks, and most of his production came once the game was already in hand for New Orleans.
13. Seattle Seahawks: Geno Smith (Last Week #21)
Geno Smith put up some nice counting numbers on the road in Week 2 against New England. The veteran NFL quarterback finished having completed 33 of 44 passes for 327 yards and a touchdown.
12. Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts (Last Week #10)
It is hard to criticize Jalen Hurts for his performance Monday, as the QB made plays with both his arm and his legs, throwing for 185 and a score while also rushing for 85 yards and keeping Atlanta’s defense on its heels. That said, a little bit more accuracy in key situations would’ve been huge for the Birds.
11. Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson (Last Week #8)
Lamar Jackson left some meat on the bone against a Raiders team that everyone and their mother expected Baltimore to defeat. His 247-yard and one-touchdown stat line is okay, but the interception he threw late was backbreaking, and he wasn’t a huge factor on the ground, finishing with just 45 yards.
10. Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert (Last Week #15)
Justin Herbert looked every bit like the franchise NFL quarterback the Chargers need him to be, and Chargers fans have to love the camaraderie he is building with Jim Harbaugh. His 14-of-20, 130-yard performance might not jump off the page, but he made some big-time throws that few guys in the league can make and did so during a convincing victory.
9. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow (Last Week #19)
It wasn’t perfection, but Joe Burrow, AKA the face of Cincinnati, put up 258 yards and two touchdowns this week and pushed Kansas City to the brink, reminding us all why he’s considered one of the best in the game and why the Bengals are the one team that the Chiefs do not want to face in the AFC playoffs.
8. Atlanta Falcons: Kirk Cousins (Last Week #22)
Kirk Cousins put on a show on Monday Night Football and proved exactly why the Falcons backed up the Brinks truck for him. The veteran NFL quarterback completed 20 of 29 passes for 241 yards and two scores with no interceptions and led the team on a clutch, game-winning drive to steal a win on the road and move to 1-1.
7. Minnesota Vikings: Sam Darnold (Last Week #11)
Sam Darnold is making a statement in what many believed to be his last chance to prove himself as a starter in the NFL. He looked good during Week 1, then followed it up with a great showing in his first home start for the Vikings. The year-seven QB threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns, including a jaw-dropping 97-yard bomb to Justin Jefferson.
6. Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes (Last Week #1)
Definitely not his best showing, as Mahomes finished the afternoon with two picks and only 151 passing yards, but as usual, he delivered when it mattered most and led the Chiefs down the field to steal a victory in the closing seconds against Cincinnati.
5. Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen (Last Week #3)
Josh Allen, meaty glove and all, put on another clinic. He wasn’t asked to do much through the air—he attempted just 19 passes but managed 139 yards, 13 completions, and a 17-yard touchdown pass to James Cook, which was a beauty. And as always, Allen’s ability to extend plays kept Miami’s defense guessing.
4. Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray (Last Week #12)
Kyler Murray was sensational. His Houdini-like scrambles and pinpoint passing were on full display as he threw for 266 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 59 yards. It was also fantastic to see him start to build some chemistry with 2024 first-round pick Marvin Harrison Jr.
3. New Orleans Saints: Derek Carr (Last Week #5)
After a slow start to his Saints career, Derek Carr looks like he is back and better than ever. He went for 243 yards and two touchdowns, including a 70-yard bomb to Rashid Shaheed, silencing his critics and helping his Saints to a 43-19 statement win over Dallas.
2. Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud (Last Week #4)
C.J. Stroud’s performance may not have been as flashy as previous outings, but tossing 260 yards and a touchdown against a tough defense like Chicago’s is impressive for the star NFL quarterback. He and Nico Collins were cooking on Sunday Night as the two hooked up eight times for 135 yards and a score.
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield (Last Week #2)
What a long, winding road it has been for Baker Mayfield, but it looks like he has found a home in Tampa! The former number-one overall pick had another big game, including an awesome 41-yard touchdown to Chris Godwin and an unbelievably clutch 11-yard touchdown run late in the game to give the Bucs control of the game.
