Being a head coach in the NFL isn’t easy… Far from it. It is probably the most complex coaching job in sports. But that is what these guys get paid the big bucks for: to facilitate a team’s offense! Let’s take a gander around the NFL and rank all 32 offenses from the bottom of the barrel to the top!
Which NFL teams had the best offense in the entire league after week one of games?
32. Carolina Panthers
If Carolina is going to rebound from a 2-15 season, quarterback Bryce Young and the offense will need to make drastic improvements. The Panthers didn’t get into the end zone until the third quarter of the contest when the game was all but decided already.
31. New York Jets
Well, it wasn’t quite as bad as the start that the Jets got off to last season… But it wasn’t far off. Aaron Rodgers looked stiff and old against an admittedly tough 49ers defense, and this group couldn’t move the ball whatsoever.
30. Chicago Bears
Despite an impressive receiving corps, with DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and rookie Rome Odunze, the passing game was a non-factor. Caleb Williams completed just 14 of 29 passes for 93 yards with no touchdowns. There is still reason for optimism with all the talent Chicago has on offense, but we’ll have to see it before they climb the rankings.

29. Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati’s offense looked stagnant most of the game against New England, and when they were able to drive into the red zone, costly mistakes kept Cincinnati off the scoreboard. Ja’Marr Chase at least played, but you would want a little more out of the superstar receiver than six catches for 62 yards.
28. New York Giants
Graham Gano kicked two field goals, and that was about the extent of the offense… That’s when you know it is bad. The only silver lining for New York was the solid showing from rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers and the confirmation that Daniel Jones is not the guy in New York.
27. Cleveland Browns
The Browns struggled to find any rhythm offensively, with Deshaun Watson looking, well, terrible as usual. Cleveland had no answer for the Dallas pass rush, and it was an uphill battle all game.
26. New England Patriots
The Patriots’ offense wasn’t flashy on Sunday against Cincinnati, but it didn’t need to be, as the defense balled out, holding Joe Burrow and co. to 10 points. Jacoby Brissett did exactly what was asked of him—take care of the football and keep the chains moving.
25. Denver Broncos
The Broncos offense, led by rookie NFL quarterback Bo Nix, struggled to gain any consistent momentum. Denver managed just 231 total yards in the contest, which was a tough start to the Nix era.
24. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers’ offense didn’t exactly light up the scoreboard, but luckily, they had Chris Boswell, whose leg carried them for the day in an 18-10 win over the Falcons. The Steelers’ conservative game plan worked well under new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
23. Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville’s offense showed flashes but ultimately couldn’t finish when it mattered most. Trevor Lawrence, fresh off a contract extension, looked inconsistent at best.
22. Las Vegas Raiders
There were some positive signs early, as the Raiders jumped out to an early score in the first quarter on an Alexander Mattison touchdown catch and run, but they stagnated as the game progressed.
21. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers’ offense, led by J.K. Dobbins and Justin Herbert, hit its stride in the second half, rallying to a 22-10 win over the Raiders. Dobbins was the standout, rushing for 135 yards and a 12-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter that helped seal the win.
20. Tennessee Titans
The Titans offense looked good early, building a 17-0 lead thanks in part to Tony Pollard, who ran for 82 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately, the Bears’ defense tightened in the second half, and a costly turnover played a critical role in the loss.
19. Los Angeles Rams
The Rams’ offense looked impressive against a sound Lions defense but failed to execute in high-leverage situations. Sean McVay’s bunch looks solid but will need to capitalize better to secure wins.
18. Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons’ offensive struggles were front and center, with Kirk Cousins having a rough first game as Atlanta’s new quarterback. Their only touchdown came late, with mistakes throughout.
17. Washington Commanders
Washington’s offense, led by rookie NFL quarterback Jayden Daniels, had nothing going on Sunday against a tough Buccaneers defense. Growing pains were expected, but it looked worse than anticipated.
16. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts’ offense had its moments, but they need more consistency. Anthony Richardson threw two long touchdown passes, but outside of those, the offense was mostly quiet.
15. Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore’s offense moved the ball well, but critical mistakes proved costly, especially against a team like the Kansas City Chiefs.
14. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks’ offense overcame a slow start to notch a 26-20 win over the Denver Broncos. Kenneth Walker III rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown to turn the tide.
13. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings came into MetLife looking sharp, and Sam Darnold led the way in his first start. He completed his first 12 passes and threw two touchdowns in a strong performance.
12. Miami Dolphins
Miami’s offense started slow but came alive in the second half. Tua threw for 336 yards and a touchdown, while Tyreek Hill electrified with seven catches for 130 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown.
11. Green Bay Packers
Green Bay looked good on offense, but Jordan Love’s injury late in the game dampened the optimism surrounding their performance.
10. Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals offense started strong but struggled to maintain momentum after halftime. They scored just 11 points in the second half, and the unit will need to do better in Week 2.
9. Detroit Lions
Detroit deployed a balanced offense against L.A. Goff, which was steady, and David Montgomery powered the ground game with 91 yards, including the game-winning 1-yard touchdown in overtime.
8. Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs offense looks elite again this season. Xavier Worthy looks like a future star, and this unit might even be better than last year’s Super Bowl-winning group.
7. Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys controlled the game from the start, opening a 27-3 lead early in the third quarter. They poured on 33 points in a dominant performance.
6. Houston Texans
The Texans offense looked great on Sunday, with offseason acquisitions Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon delivering. Diggs caught two touchdowns, and Mixon ran for 159 yards in a strong showing.
5. Buffalo Bills
The Bills offense posted 352 total yards and showed off versatility with a new-look receiving group. Josh Allen spread the ball around, completing passes to nine different players, with rookie Keon Coleman leading the way.
4. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers offense was impressive on Monday Night Football, running all over a Jets defense that was supposed to be among the best in the NFL.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay’s offense was firing on all cylinders in Week 1. Baker Mayfield spread the ball around, connecting with Mike Evans for two touchdowns and adding more scores to Chris Godwin and rookie Jalen McMillan.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles have to feel good about their offense. Saquon Barkley scored three touchdowns in their Week 1 victory, as Philadelphia poured on 34 points in South America.
1. New Orleans Saints
The Saints offense, under new coordinator Klint Kubiak, came out firing, putting up 47 points against the Panthers. They scored on their first nine possessions and looked unstoppable.
