There’s no league more iconic than the NFL. A league with excellent storylines, an individual team’s journey from the start of training camp to the regular season, and the Super Bowl through intense playoff matchups. Many teams’ stories are remembered through that window, as well as the iconic uniforms they don during game-day. With an iconic uniform, a team is truly remembered for the color combination and the logos incorporated. However, not all uniforms get high marks. Some teams need to return to the design room to rejigger the look while others should head to the nearest trash bin and just start over from scratch.
Here are the uniform rankings Worst to First.
32) Atlanta Falcons
The current Falcons uniforms debuted in the 2020 season. Although the letters and numbering on the jerseys look incredible and modern, the red fade-to-black alternative jersey isn’t a true and memorable eye-catcher. The Falcons didn’t even wear them during the 2023 season. Many fans prefer the throwback uniforms with the red helmet and the uniforms the team wore from 2003 until 2019.
31) Tennessee Titans
The current Titans uniforms debuted in 2018 and although the navy blue helmets are nice, these uniforms aren’t spectacular but could’ve been worse. The uniforms the Titans wore from 1999 until 2017 had a better look to them, as well as the throwback Houston Oilers jerseys they wore twice in 2023. The lettering and numbering make the numbers look fierce but don’t hold up to the older uniforms with the Titans Sword logo on the sleeves.
30) New York Jets

The Jets uniforms had a serious downgrade when they switched to the futuristic Gotham Green jerseys in 2019 after they ditched their classic Hunter Green jerseys. The Green helmets may be a nice touch, but the Gotham Green jerseys aren’t as iconic as their previous uniforms. The Jets did wear their 1980s throwback uniforms, which were a better look than their away jerseys, but they should’ve brought back the green home uniforms as well. However, the Jets are unveiling new uniforms for the 2024 season, as they look to move past the Gotham Green phase, which lasted from 2019 to 2023.
29) Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars’ current uniforms are pretty bland and nowhere as cool as the uniforms they wore from their inception in 1995 until the 2008 season. The Jaguar logo on the top right corner of the jersey is a tiny bit cheesy and isn’t as cool as the Jaguars’ original logo on the sleeves of the original uniform. The uniforms may grow on people over time. Getting themselves back into the playoffs for the 2024 season will certainly help that growth.
28) Washington Commanders
Although the Commanders’ uniforms haven’t been around for that long, the burgundy and yellow truly stand out. Even though the all-black uniforms are kind of played out, they will grow on people similarly to their current home and road uniforms. The Commanders’ uniforms are a step up and are more eye-catching than their Washington Football Team uniforms, which were pretty bland.
27) Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals recently changed their uniforms for the 2023 season. Although the Cardinal faithful are used to the uniforms the team wore from 2005 until 2022, the current uniforms in rotation will grow on all of us. The Cardinals’ current jerseys also have two mottos on the back collar of their home, road, and alternative jerseys: Protect the Nest and Bird Gang. Even though the Cardinals were a disappointment in 2023, all they need is more Pro Bowl-like offensive talent for Kyler Murray to work in 2024 and show off their jersey style.
26) New England Patriots
The Patriots uniforms from the Tom Brady era will always live rent-free in the minds of all haunted by the Patriots dynasty. However, after Tom Brady left for free agency in 2020, the Pats switched things up and made their color rush jerseys their home uniforms. Nothing wrong with uniform change, but the old-school Pat the Patriot red throwback jerseys will always be the best Patriots uniforms period. They wore these iconic threads twice in 2023.
25) Houston Texans
The Texans have been in the NFL since their inception in 2002 and haven’t made many changes to their uniforms. The only thing the Texans did that was a radical change to their uniforms was introduce red alternative helmets back in 2022 when the NFL lifted its one-helmet rule back in 2013. With the Texans on the rise with DeMeco Ryans and C.J. Stroud, the franchise announced they will unveil new uniforms during the 2024 NFL Draft.
24) Denver Broncos
Although the Broncos’ uniforms were very innovative from their introduction in 1997, the team hasn’t seen much change, except switching their home and alternate uniforms around for the 2012 season to pay homage to their original home orange uniforms. The Broncos have introduced alternative throwback-styled uniforms in 2016 and added white helmets to the mix in 2023.
23) Cleveland Browns
The Browns’ uniforms aren’t the flashiest, but they aren’t the worst uniforms. They’ve been pretty similar since their revival in 1999, but at least they ditched their 2015 to 2018 look in 2019. The white helmets and white throwback uniforms were a very nice addition to the Browns uniform roster. Simplicity works some of the time, but the Browns’ uniforms can use some flashiness for the future.
22) Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins’ current uniforms have a great combination of turquoise, orange, and white with a modern look ever since they were introduced in 2013. The Dolphins’ throwback jerseys are incredible, as well, incorporating the throwback Dolphins logo. The Dolphins wore the turquoise and white throwback jerseys once each during the 2023 regular season. The NFL fans want to see the throwbacks more often.
21) Los Angeles Rams
When the Rams’ unveiled their new uniforms during the 2020 season, they initially had mixed reactions as their previous uniforms were truly awesome to experience on game day. The off-white beige away uniforms are slowly growing on people, as well as the bold yellow antler on the helmet. The current Rams’ uniforms are fine, but in no way compare to their previous uniforms, especially their royal blue and gold throwback jerseys.
20) New York Giants
The Giants’ uniforms haven’t seen much radical change in recent years. However, the Giants’ throwback uniforms truly look incredible. They even have a hidden message on the back collar, “once a Giant, always a Giant.” Throughout the years, the Giants kept things simple with their uniforms and have no plans on spicing things up anytime soon.
19) Detroit Lions
As cool as the Lions’ jerseys were during the Calvin Johnson years, the current Lions’ uniforms are equally as bold and sharp. Not to mention the added alternate blue helmet with the throwback Lions’ logo as an excellent touch and homage to the Lions’ dynasty of the 1950s. With Dan Campbell bringing strong change to the organization, we look forward to seeing the Lions don these jerseys when they make more playoff appearances.
18) Seattle Seahawks
When the Seahawks’ uniforms were first introduced in 2012, they were bold and eye-catching. This was at the time Nike took over the NFL uniform deal from Reebok that same year. The subtle details on the numbers and the 12 on the back neck collar were always excellent touches when they were first introduced in the 2012 season. However, the Seahawks’ throwback jerseys are the real attention grabbers, as they donned those uniforms twice in 2023. We hope to see those throwbacks in more games in 2024.
17) Buffalo Bills
The Bills uniforms are another very simple and great uniform when seen on the field. The white helmets with the stampeding Buffalo work very nicely with the blue home and white away jerseys. Although fans miss the throwback Bills logo, the Bills’ all-red alternate uniforms are also very flashy and are a nice addition to the team’s uniform rotation.
16) Carolina Panthers
Even though the Panthers haven’t had much success on the field in terms of winning games, their uniforms on the other hand are true staples to the team. The process blue works perfectly with the black and grey, as well as the silver helmets with the Panthers’ logo. The “Keep Pounding” motto on the back collar has been a great added touch since being introduced back in 2012.
15) Indianapolis Colts
Although the Colts’ uniforms haven’t had much change in their lifetime, the simplicity of the uniforms is what makes them iconic. The Colts did make slight changes to the uniforms in 2020. Adding a “C” logo with the state of Indiana to the back collar is a great addition. The all-blue look with the black helmets is also another great addition to the Colts uniform rotation.
14) Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals’ uniforms have a nice flare to them with the tiger stripes on the sleeves. However, the all-white tiger uniforms along with the black and white striped helmets are arguably the best alternate uniforms in the league. There also is a nice work marking on the back collar of the jerseys paying homage to the team’s founder, Paul Brown.
13) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
When the Buccaneers reintroduced their uniforms from 1997 until 2013 with some new touches of the current word marking, it was a massive upgrade from the jerseys with the numbers that looked like something off an old digital alarm clock. The red and pewter looks amazing on the field and the alternate pewter jerseys look great, but would look even better with red or white pants. However, the throwback orange and cream look needs to be worn in more games for the upcoming 2024 season.
12) Chicago Bears
The Bears haven’t had much change to their uniforms since they were introduced in the 1950s as they’ve remained a classic staple. Although the alternate orange helmets aren’t the most appealing to the eyes, the alternate orange uniforms look great, and traditional home and away jerseys will always look great no matter who wears them during games against their NFC North rivals and other opponents.
11) Baltimore Ravens
Even though the Ravens haven’t had many changes to their uniforms since they were introduced in 2000, they remain one of the best-looking jerseys in the league. The purple, black, and metallic gold truly stand out on and off the field. The all-black uniforms are also arguably some of the best black alternate jerseys in the NFL, giving the team a very vicious look during game days. It’s a shame that the Ravens haven’t introduced a throwback uniform paying homage to their inaugural 1996 season, yet. Hopefully, that can potentially happen in the 2025 30th anniversary season.
10) Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys have some of the best navy blue and white jerseys in the NFL and are instantly recognized worldwide. However, their navy-blue throwback jerseys along with the white helmet with the navy-blue star are arguably some of the best alternate uniforms in the entire league. NFL fans need to see those throwback jerseys worn in more games other than the Cowboys’ traditional Thanksgiving game.
9) Kansas City Chiefs
Even before the Chiefs became a Super Bowl dynasty, in the 2020s, their uniforms looked incredible. The red jerseys with a touch of yellow always stand out as a classic staple in the NFL world, as well as the red helmet with the Chiefs logo, makes these uniforms very iconic. Even though the Chiefs don’t have an alternate black jersey or a throwback jersey, it would be very nice to see the Chiefs bring back the old-school Dallas Texans jerseys for the first time since the 2009 season.
8) New Orleans Saints
The Saints have a very simple uniform, but it’s the simplicity that makes these uniforms amazing. The black and metallic gold will always look incredible on the field. The Saints also have a great throwback jersey, as well as an excellent black alternate helmet with a white-on-white uniform. However, the one look the Saints need to bring back is their all-gold jerseys, which were last seen in 2002, and rock the all-black helmets for an amazing look on game day for the 2024 season and beyond. Can we add please, for a couple of games?
7) Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers’ uniforms haven’t seen much change since they were introduced in 1997, but they’ve remained one of the best uniforms in the league. The black and yellow look will always be iconic, as well as the Steelers’ logo on the right side of the helmet. The black-on-black alternate jerseys are also incredible and are an iconic staple to the team’s uniform rotation.
6) Las Vegas Raiders
Even though the Raiders’ uniforms haven’t seen serious changes, the simplicity of the uniforms makes them a true and iconic jersey during games. Even though the Raiders haven’t had much success in the 2000s, the black and silver jerseys look sharp no matter who was wearing them as part of the historic Raiders franchise.
5) Philadelphia Eagles
Ever since the Eagles’ midnight green uniforms were introduced in 1996, they’ve been some of the boldest uniforms to grace an NFL field- whether you like or hate the Eagles. The midnight green helmets with the Eagle wings also make the jerseys stand out as some of the fiercest on the field. Fans were pleased to see the Eagles bring back the iconic Kelly green jerseys for the first time since 2010 in two games in 2023 and hope to see them appear in more games in 2024.
4) Green Bay Packers
Another NFL team that hasn’t seen much uniform change in recent history, the Packers’ jerseys are arguably some of the best jerseys in the NFL. The dark forest green with yellow and white looks incredible on the field as well as the iconic yellow helmet with the “G” logo, which was first introduced in 1961. Some of the most iconic football players have worn these incredible jerseys like Brett Favre, Bart Starr, Charles Woodson, and Aaron Rodgers, to name a few.
3) San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers’ red, gold, and white uniforms may be pretty simple to some, but they are awesome. The gold helmets will always be a great touch for the 49ers as well as their throwback uniforms with the three-dimensional styled numbers. Sometimes simplicity in a sports uniform wins at the end of the day.
2) Los Angeles Chargers
Ever since the Chargers introduced their current uniforms in 2020, they’ve been truly spectacular to see on the field. The lightning bolt on the shoulders will always be a staple and exciting to see, as well as the alternate navy and royal blue jerseys. The hidden edition of the “Bolt Up” slogan on the back collar of the jerseys is also a great addition to the jerseys. Hopefully, we see the Chargers turn things around in 2024 with the arrival of Jim Harbaugh as head coach as well as these awesome jerseys in the playoffs.
1) Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings’ uniforms are plainly incredible. From the Viking-style wording and numbering to the Vikings’ horn on the helmets gives an always sharp and fierce look during games. Not to mention the Vikings’ throwback jerseys are incredible when they pay homage to the team’s history from the late 1990s and early 2000s, that had Randy Moss and Cris Carter. The combination of purple, yellow, and white will always be iconic and respected by NFL fans.
